A Man After God’s Heart (TEMPLE THOUGHTS)
And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.Acts 13:22NKJV
This is an extremely high recommendation for any man to be called, ‘a man after God’s heart ‘ and by God Himself. Since the scripture says that God found him, then there must have been a search, and if there was a search, then there must have been some desired character traits that God was searching for, and found in David.
Over the years, I’ve spent time, trying to look closely at the man David, searching for those unique traits that must have endeared him to God, I found quite a few, let’s look at one of them. In 1Sam.24. Saul chased David into the cave Adullam, and was delivered into his hands. For many, this would have been an opportunity to hasten the journey into destiny. After all Saul was already rejected by God and David was already anointed as king. Yet this man of God will not lay his hands on the fallen king, because of the anointing of God in Saul’s life. He honored God, by sparing Saul.
Today, there are so many Sauls around, men in whose lives, the oil has gone dry. They have become entertaining tales for idle saints when our hearts ought to be grieved for the honor of our Father. Please walk away from such theaters, pray if you can, and if you are too grieved to pray, say like David, ‘ I will not lay my mouth on him, seeing that he is the anointed of God’.
Leave Saul to his God, but you my dear friend David, go and prepare your self for a date with your destiny without tainting your lips with the blood of the fallen.
