*THE NAME OF JESUS, A STRONG TOWER.*

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Prov. 18:10.

A songwriter wrote: “…on Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking and…” Safety is in none other than the name of Jesus, He is the only rock that has been for ages and He does not fail. In the world where wickedness is on the increase and the love of many waxing cold, the only veritable place the righteous can build his hope on is on nothing less than Jesus Christ who is our source and sustainer.

Jeremiah 17:5-6 says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength…he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes…”. Building hope in man is not only a risk; it also is an invitation to calamity. God frowns seriously at that.
The death, pain and destruction that is prevalent in our society today cannot find a loophole into the safety-net of the name of Jesus – it is failure and harm proof. That name ‘JESUS’ is the rock on which we stand firm.

There is no safety in the name of a ‘saint’ or ‘mountain’. No dead religious or sect leader’s name has what it takes to protect anyone. Praying to them for protection whether in ignorance or not will only but expose you to great danger for there is no other name under heaven, given among men by which we must be saved except the name JESUS. In Him we are sure of safety. In Him we are sure of protection and preservation.

Action Point: If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and saviour, do that now first because that’s what guarantees you His protection. Ask Him to forgive you your sins as you confess them and then invite Him into your life as lord.

Prayers: Lord you are my hiding place, come now and cover me. You are my safety when storms are raging, surround me with your love. Today Lord, I hide myself in you in Jesus’ name. Amen!
