The Bible is a Book of Visions.

in #christianity7 years ago

The Everyone has a purpose for existing and the place to find it is in the Bible.

The Bible is a book of visions.

Isaiah 29:11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

Vision in our context here means a discovery of purpose.

Purpose is the reason for which an individual is on earth. It's the reason one was created.

Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

You are here on assignment. No one is here by chance or mistake. You don't exist for nothing. You're not a biological accident. You were created for a purpose.

Now, a discovery of purpose is what we call vision.

Purposes and assignments of individuals are established in the Bible.

It is the creator's manual. It contains what everyman is here to do, how to do it, where and even when to do it.

It shows us who we are, what we can do and how to do them.

Heb 1:7 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

You can't exhaust the volume of this Book and not catch a vision. It is a book of visionaries.

John the baptist cautght a vision from the Book

John 1:22-23

22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? 23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

Jesus Christ too.

Luke 4:17-18

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Pay ample time to the Bible.

Study, don't just read it. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach and reveal to you the hidden mysteries of the Bible.

You are the next online.

Peace!

Dear @gameoutcome,

“Indeed God speaks once, or twice, yet no one notices it. In a dream, a vision of the night, when sound sleep falls on men, while they slumber in their beds...” Job 33:15-16

There are several biblical accounts that record that God has spoken to mankind through dreams or visions. A dream is a succession of images, thoughts, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep. On the other hand, a vision portrays scenery or dramatic circumstances to the human recipient while the human is awake.

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Acts 2:17

The “last days” began at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out in power. The “last days” continue until the return of the Lord. Today, God still speaks through dreams and visions.

Speaking of hidden mysteries of the Bible, I did an 8 part series entitled, "Revealing the Mysteries of the Bible"

Below is the link to the introduction of the series. If you find it worthwhile, check out Part VIII which is a video and has the links to all the teachings in the series. I am sure it will bless you.

The Isaiah 29 verse has nothing to do with people having a vision. John the Baptist didn't catch his vision from the Bible. It was given to him from birth. John the Baptist was the last Nazarite.

(Luke 1:13-17 NIV) But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. {14} He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, {15} for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth. {16} Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. {17} And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

God selected Jeremiah to be a prophet even before his birth. There's nothing in the Bible to suggest that believers are in that same category.

(Isaiah 29:10-14 NIV) The LORD has brought over you a deep sleep: He has sealed your eyes (the prophets); he has covered your heads (the seers). {11} For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say to him, "Read this, please," he will answer, "I can't; it is sealed." {12} Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say, "Read this, please," he will answer, "I don't know how to read." {13} The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. {14} Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."

Youre very right!!!

I'm a Christian who posts an evangelical article about the great Christian scientists throughout history. Is there a group of like minded Steemians on discord or a similar site available to join? I only seem to be reaching out to hardcore atheists and that is great but I could use some help with a support structure. Thanks for your time and great post, I often tell people to read the Bible cover to cover the way it is meant to be read rather than the snippets people take out of order and context, that's what I mean by support :)

This is indeed a revelation. Thank u for ur insight
