HONOUR YOUR PARENTS( bible Text: Luke 2:24-45)
Memory Verse: Exodus 2021?. Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may belong upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Lesson Aim: To let the children know that God is well pleased, when they obey their parents and honour them.
Central Truth: it shall be well with you when you honour your parents. Introduction Jesus says, “Give honour to whom honour is due" in this case, honour is for our parents. The first commandment that has a blessing attached to it is tied around honour for one's earthly parents. This shows that God does not joke with this matter as He has placed our parents in the world as his representative and a figure of his fatherhood overall creation. And if not for anything, for the fact that they are responsible for our earthly existence and they have paid prizes for our survival, we ought to give them honour.

B. Ways we can honour our parents.
- Speak well of them We can demonstrate honour to our parents by speaking well of them and refusing to speak evil of them. We need to speak well of them when they are alive and after they have died.
- Forgive them There are no perfect parents, and some have fallen short of their children's expectations and even their own expectations.
