Central Truth: Do not allow evil words to come out of your mouth.

Introduction
As small as the tongue is among the various members of the body, it has always been
difficult for a lot of people to control, hence bringing them into troubles they did not bargain for. Children of God are warned to avoid this attitude of evil speaking so that they will not fall into the dangers that await those who continue in such acts.

STUDY GUIDE

A. What is evil speaking? Ephessians4231; 1Petter 2:1 ; Matthew 7:1.

• Every unwholesome utterance about other persons because we hate them
• Passing wrong comment about another person
• Speaking ill of our neighbours and friends talking and gossiping about people because we don't like them
• Backbiting and slandering another person at their absence
• Speaking bad things about people in government or our leaders
• Making condemnatory and judgemental statement on another person
• All forms of lies and hypocrisy
  -All manners of insult and blasphemy against God and his servants

• God's children must be careful and guided to avoid this bad habit in order to escape the impending danger like what happened to Aaron and Marriam .

C. The Dangers of speaking evil

• An evil word will defile you and others: it will make you unfit to stand before God Mathew 15:11 , James 3:6.
• It could worsen a situation or matter-James 3:5-6
  -Evil words could poisoned someone's mind against another James 3:8
