Stop That Prayer.
There are some prayers that are just wrong, I wonder why most Christian say such prayers. Oh, the reason is not far fetched anyway, ignorance. When you are using a computer and you enter the wrong key, what you get in response is "Error". Same goes with our prayers as Christians.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29). If as a Christian, you have been praying," O God, prosper me," then, you have been praying amiss because our prosperity as far as God is concerned, is a settled fact. Its like praying for God to make you a human being. That's not going to work! Prosperity and greatness has been imparted to your spirit same way righteousness was imparted in your spirit.
2 Corinthians 8:9 says, " for ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich." This means that Jesus became poor physically, he lived a poor life for your sake so that from what he gave up, you might inherit. Think about this: God laid our sins on Jesus on the cross and conferred his righteousness on us at his Resurrection. We are heirs, all of God's wealth belongs to you. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine saith the Lord. Haggai 2:8 " for every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains and the wild beasts of the field are mine......for the world is mine and the fullness thereof" Psalm 50:10-12.
So, as an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ, the silver, the gold, the cattle upon a thousand hills, the world and the fullness thereof, belong to you as much as they belong to Him. No wonder the Bible says, " all things are yours"(1 Corinthians 3:22). Everyday, always see yourself in this light for this is the truth about your prosperity.
Never you see your job or business as your source but a medium to bless others, reject poverty and sickness and everything that is inconsistent with God's Word for your life. Live a prosperous and joyful life because its your birth right. Now you have this knowledge, keep proclaiming it in your life and it will become a reality.

No, prosperity and greatness are not automatically given to you. If prosperity is given to you then why is Nigeria such a poor country compared to Japan, which is a godless country but rich?
There are principles of prosperity, some Christians are poor because the are not working according to God's principle, some just stay idle when God's word say whatsoever you lay your hands to do will prosper. Many christians only read the letter in the Bible without enforcing God's word to work in their lives. It is not the hearers of God's word that is justified but the doers.
