Where Our Power Lies

in #christianity6 years ago (edited)

With the indwelling Holy Spirit: far stronger is He in us than the one outside us.

Nobody (except God) can truly ever destroy the soul. Only the body can be hurt.

Spiritual warfare is learning to overcome with the Holy Spirit. Not overcoming flesh and blood -- but any power spiritual entities have over us, either directly on us or indirectly through other people.

Jesus never fought back, even though others mocked him, tried to stone him, accuse him and even brutally torture him. He didn't have to. He always had full authority of God and listened to the will of His Father. He knew why people acted the way they did. He loved them fully.

Spiritual warfare is never fighting another with our hands, will or words. We approach God directly and ask Him what He sees in our heart. We let go of whatever we've allowed to take the power and authority we have through Jesus Christ, whether it is sin, putting blame on others, ignoring God etc.

With Jesus Christ, we overcome what might've crippled us before. We have the armour of God.

Thank you God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit!

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. --- Ephesians 6:10-18
