LACK OF KNOWLEDGE: BELIEVERS' BANE
"MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; BECAUSE YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THE LAW OF YOUR GOD, I ALSO WILL FORGET YOUR CHILDREN."
Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)
Comment: The bane or woe of whoever claimed to be of God is lack of knowledge. When knowledge of God is rejected, a believer who did it would no longer be fitted for leadership, or being used in the ministry (Hosea 4:6).
When the law of God, the Word of God, principles found in the Bible, is rejected or forsaken, God will also withdraw His presence or shield, or His protection over the person and the family; thus, destruction is inevitable, or certain to happen (Hosea 4:6).
Knowledge of God's Word is being evaded today; people would not want to know about God:
3 FOR A TIME IS COMING WHEN PEOPLE WILL NO LONGER LISTEN TO SOUND AND WHOLESOME TEACHING. THEY WILL FOLLOW THEIR OWN DESIRES AND WILL LOOK FOR TEACHERS WHO WILL TELL THEM WHATEVER THEIR ITCHING EARS WANT TO HEAR. 4 THEY WILL REJECT THE TRUTH AND CHASE AFTER MYTHS" (2 Timothy 4:3,4 NLT).
The truth is: when the knowledge of God's Word is forsaken by someone, the person has forsaken God. Because, you get to know God through His Word, and when His Word is rejected, you get yourself distanced away from God.
God could not be seen physically, we get to know Him, learn of Him, know his attributes, likes and dislikes, through His Word—the Bible.
Thus, whoever cuts off from God's Word, the practice or the doing of it, has cut off from God Himself: "YOU ARE MY FRIENDS IF YOU KEEP ON DOING WHAT I COMMAND YOU" (John 15:14 Amps).
Are you indifferent to God's Word?Peace.
