The Bible is the most wonderful and oldest book on earth written over a period of 1,600 years: Beginning with Genesis written by Moses and ending with Revelation by John. The commonly available Bible is divided into 2 Sections - Old Testament (made up of 39 books) and New Testament (made up of 27 books)

The first words of the Bible ever written were the Ten (10) Commandments, written down by God Himself on a Stone Tablet approximately between 1,500 BC and 1,400BC (3,500 years ago). Language used was an ancient form of Hebrew (Language of Old Covenant Believers)

Earliest scripture is generally considered to be the “PENTATEUCH” (1st five (5) Books of Moses) i.e Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy).

The Old Testament (OT) scriptures were written in ancient Hebrew which passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years on scrolls made of animal skin, usually sheep. The entire Pentateuch on a scroll – Torah, measures 150 feet long. The OT,39 books, completed by 500 BC and all preserved on scrolls.

Aside the commonly available OT, we have the Jewish Historic Books – The APOCRYPHA. This was written in GREEK and was completed approaching the last few centuries before Christ.

Then we have the New Testament (NT) which was completed in the 1st Century AD in GREEK an was written on PAPYRUS. 27 Books were recognized as the CANON of NT scriptures by Athenasius, Bishop of Alexandria in 315 AD.

A biblical canon or canon of scripture is a list of texts (or "books") which a particular religious community regards as authoritative scripture. The word "canon" comes from the Greek κανών, meaning "rule" or "measuring stick"

In 382 AD, the NT was translated from Greek to Latin by Father Jerome. This translation was known as “Latin Vulgate” (Vulgate –Common). Father Jerome was not too certain whether the Apocrypha Books were inspired scriptures or just Jewish Historical writings which accompanied the OT.

“There is no truth to the popular myth that there is something Roman Catholic about the Apocrypha"

By 500 AD, the Bible had been translated into over 500 languages. However, in 600 AD, the translations were restricted to ONLY LATIN which was kept by the Catholic Church of Rome. The leadership of the Church refused to allow the scriptures to be in any other language. Non-Latin Bible owners were quickly EXECUTED. Only the Priests were educated to understand Latin and this gave the Church Ultimate Power:

  • Power to rule without question
  • Power to deceive
  • Power to extort money

Nobody could question their “Biblical” Teachings because only few people other than the priests could read Latin. The church capitalized on this forced ignorance through 400AD to 1,400 AD. This period was known as the “Dark & Middle Ages” of the church.

Between 1513 to 1521, Pope Leo X established a practice called “Selling of Indulgences”![PopeLeo_X_Best.jpg](

The way of extorting money from people was by offering forgiveness for a fairly small amount of money. A little more money, you would be allowed to indulge in a continuous lifestyle of sin. Through the invention of “Purgatory”, you could purchase the salvation of your loved-ones soul that have died in their sins

Pope Leo X was noted for his famous quote “ The FABLE of Christ has been quite profitable to us”
