I'm happy with the result and it's been really easy to do and I think it's a good idea to make your own Christmas gift, so if you're waiting until the last minute to make your gifts but you want to put your heart into it, follow the recipe!
INGREDIENTS AND EQUIPMENT FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS CANDLE
• 100g soya wax
• 20g of beeswax
• 15 drops of clove essential oil
• 10 drops of ginger essential oil
• 10 drops of nutmeg essential oil
• 5 drops of cinnamon essential oil (from Ceylon or China)
• 5 drops of cardamom essential oil
• amber glass jar of 120 ml
• wicks and spark plug holder
• 1 stick and pliers
• 1 stainless steel or glass container
I recommend essential oils of for their quality. Soya wax makes it possible to have a very smooth and homogeneous candle, while beeswax can sometimes "crackle". Beeswax makes the candle last longer. I chose to mix the two but you can make a 100% vegetable candle.
STEP-BY-STEP RECIPE FOR MAKING A CHRISTMAS CANDLE
First, weigh the 100g soya wax and 20g beeswax in a glass or stainless steel container. Place this container in a saucepan filled with boiling water. Melt and mix the two waxes. Remove from the heat, wait 2 minutes and add 15 drops of clove essential oil, 10 drops of ginger essential oil, 10 drops of nutmeg essential oil, 5 drops of cinnamon essential oil and 5 drops of cardamom essential oil. Mix it all together and leave aside.
Put the wick in your holder and soak it in your still liquid mixture. Then place the stand in the bottom of the pot and glue it together. Hold the wick with a stick above the pot and pinch the wick between the stick and the pliers. Pour in your candle mixture and allow the candle to cool outside. For decoration, wait until the candle has taken on a slightly white colour and the texture is soft. When decorating, you can also cut the excess wick so that the wick is up to the top of the pot.
And now, your gingerbread Christmas candle is ready!
