Christmas Dinner - 25 December 2024

We had a peaceful family Christmas lunch today. Above you can see a photo I took of my plate. I enjoyed my vegetarian dinner very much. It included a vegetarian nut roast Wellington which is a nut roast wrapped in puff pastry that we bought ready-made at Lidl's about three weeks ago. I also ate some vegetarian pigs in blankets which are the little veggie sausages wrapped in what looks a bit like bacon.

I accompanied these tasty sources of protein with vegetables including Brussel sprouts, carrots, parsnips, a couple of roast potatoes and peas. I also had some bread sauce, and vegetarian gravy and later realised that I forgot to add some cranberry sauce. All this also included a Yorkshire pudding. This was a very filling lunch for me and I enjoyed tremendously as it was very hard work making part of it.

The rest of my family had meat plus the vegetables so that included turkey, chicken and different types of sausages. Our dessert was a couple of profiteroles and trifle. I forgot to take photos of the desserts so I'll have to buy them again to take the photos another day !

The hardest part of this elaborate meal is the preparation and timing of all the parts followed by the tonnes of washing up so I must say I am happy I was able to contribute a lot to both processes.

I must go now to join in the board games - I may write a review of one of the games as it's new to me and I'm still working it out.

Thank you ! @steemcurator02 !

It looks good!

Thank you, it was very nice @wangabing !

Very strong of you to avoid the meat and go with the vegetables. I don't know if I could do that. It's especially hard around Christmas time where most people celebrate with food.
