I saw the film The Big Lebowski at the time. I admit that I haven't been a follower of the Coen brothers' cinematographic work, although I recognise the intelligence of their achievements. Although I enjoy irony, there is a certain manifestation of it when it coincides with indifference or cynicism that is not of my preference. My generation and formation mark me.
I don't think it is so appropriate to identify "dudeisme" with Taoism.
From the Coen brothers' films I've seen so far, my favourites are Miller's Crossin and No Country for Old Men.
