Deadpool 2

Hello everyone! I'm Thomas and I'm going to talk about the movie "Deadpool 2" by David Leitch.

First of all, we must know what the movie is about.

Sinopsis.

Deadpool must protect Russell, a mutant teenager, from Cable a soldier of the genetically modified future. Deadpool is allied with other superheroes to defeat the mighty Cable.

The uncertainty created by each sequel of every film is that if it did what its predecessor did, and the doubt of whether Deadpool 2 would do it was pretty big and to my consideration... it did, not surpassing him but hey, let's give a lot of credit to that it did it with enough style.

I liked the sequel, not as much as its predecessor, but it gives us a very good film and above all a very good continuation to the story of Wade Wilson. This film was already classified as good for me from the beginning, come on, what makes this adaptation of Deadpool good is the magnificent characterization of Ryan Reynolds, his charisma, his love of the character and his good acting leaves nothing to be desired, and oh yas, he got it just the way I expected it.

What I did like it.

Let's start with what the critics say best about this sequel, the supporting characters, highlighting Domino and TCable. One thing I really liked about this sequel was that in the first movie, the action scenes were reduced to Wade, Wade with Colossus, Wade against Ajax, Wade with Colossus against Ajax or Wade against many people; in this film the action is extended to other characters, not necessarily reduced to Deadpool. The action sequences of Cable and Domino were incredible, I loved each one of them; How Domino's character came to the story was slightly simple for me for all the development he has later and as they develop his personality is great, as we see that literally nothing matters to her because she knows that everything will work out and she just gets carried away... basically the development of his powers are being very innovative for a superhero movie.

On the other hand, Cable (played by Josh Brolin, who, by the way, surprises me how well he's doing this year) is a character who from the beginning has only action, hits and we don't know much more than what the film's synopsis tells us until beyond the middle of the film, and his little introduction to his past (and the wink at his comic book daughter) was quick and simple, just to teach us a little more about him and understand what he does, I loved how his character keeps quiet while he's handing out punches like he's playing the ball, which makes his action scenes even cooler.

Speaking of them, I admit that I see less red, less blood than the first film (Except for the scene of when Juggernaut -I'll talk about him later- break Deadpool for the middle, and then the baby legs -which although they looked like hand 2.0 of the first film, still gave me a lot of laugh-), but that doesn't make the scenes lose their touch, on the contrary, we see them bigger, more explosive and as I said, not only reduced to Deadpool this time.

Another thing I must mention that I liked about the movie is how them humanizing the character of Deadpool, of course, any comic book fan would be angry about this, because this is impossible, given his but personality, but uh, since the last movie they made it clear to us that this Wade is not as 'crazy' as his comic book counterpart. Well, I continue, taking into account that the movie of origins was the before movie, in this one we saw more Wade than Deadpool (Yes, I know that this opinion I refer Deadpool as Wade but.... you understand, right?) The atmosphere he creates makes us not only see Deadpool as a killing machine with jokes, but it creates a love beyond that, although, the relationship with the child and how them try to the empathy with him (I'm talking to you, Vanessa's unnecessary death) is not completely well built.

Well, touching that point I want to get to something I didn't like as much or more than that.... at the end of the film it started to get annoying. As I said, I liked how they humanized the character, and this becomes very difficult because Wade breaks the fourth wall, being aware that he is a character. But, it is tedious how he breaks the wall every minute, much more than in the first film, and how many jokes are reduced to breaking it or making a reference. Some jokes, of course they get to hit and of course I laughed, but it doesn't take away the fact that they see this thing of breaking the fourth wall and saying a reference like a "fan-service" because the fans will laugh; the thing is that they over exploit it so much that they are in an action scene and they want to say a joke and they see it as the easiest way out: Make a reference and go home.

What I didn't like it.

I did not like very few things. Now that we're going for what I didn't like, I have to talk about the "villains". Well, yes, I liked Juggernaut's participation in the film, because they get better the character after the disappointment of "X-Men: The Last Stand", but they keep putting him as a simple soldier and this time of a... a child? Oh, really? Juggernaut can give all X-Men problems on his own, and they release him with a pen (Cof cof cof script convenience cof cof).

And.... the kid, the kid, well, I don't have to talk about him, a normal, irrelevant character, even though he's the "main villain", even though at times he started to seem very annoying and unbearable, he's a kid and I understand that, he's immature, okay, everything... fine. The thing is how they give Wade a little arch of Vanessa's death, Deadpool's limbo, that he wants to have a child all this to have an excuse for why Deadpool wants to protect the child, even though the excuse was missing, the whole subplot he took seemed unnecessary to me.

And I close with the theme of the X-Force, okay, the X-Force don't seem good or bad, I thought it was a good wink and a good excuse to introduce Domino, it's the Deadpool movie, and to give more prominence to the X-Force would be to take it away from Deadpool and the X-Force will already have its film (Deadpool 3 will be X-Force, for those who do not know) its scenes, I laughed, and passed without glory, only exist. Regular (Although they brought the god Peter) Oh and, I wanted to mention that Deadpool 2 has, oh yes, the best post-credit scenes of life.

In conclusion, Deadpool 2 respects the character and what was the first film but without overcoming it, but by making itself bigger in a very good way, to see, have a few laughs, see them a few times, and then, goodbye. Some of the best superhero movies? Meh, top 15 for me maybe.
