Night View from Sky Terrace 428 on The Peak, Hong Kong

in #cityscapephotography7 years ago (edited)

After checking-in at accommodation in Mong Kok, we started our way towards the The Peak.

The journey we took:

  • Taking Mass Transit Railway (MTR) from Mong Kok MTR station to Central MTR station.
  • Walking from Central MTR station to The Peak Tram with a guide.
  • Taking the Tram to Sky Terrace 428.

By the time we reach the top, it was almost 8pm. As it was dark already, we could not fly the drone (due to regulations). 😓
It was also very crowded, so we did not stayed for long.

Here is one of the photos taken using my phone. Hope you like it.

If you are interested to visit Sky Terrace 428, here are some information

How to get there

  1. Book 'The Peak Tram' tickets from Klook. (For all who are wondering: Nope~ I am neither working for nor the spokeperson for Klook. 😆 This is my first time using Klook and I booked all my attraction tickets for my trip to Hong Kong through them. I am recommending them because my experience with them is quite positive.)
We bought the 'Peak Tram + Sky Pass (Roundtrip)' tickets.
We chose the 6:15pm timing during booking of tickets.

  2. Take the MTR to Central MTR Station. Head to Exit K to meet the Klook guide at the timing you choose. The guides will give out the tickets and do a briefing.
Hint: The guides will explain how to get down from the peak because once you reach the top, you will be free to explore on your own.

  3. Follow the the guide on a short walk to the Peak Tram Lower Terminus. Enjoy the ride!
Hint: Try to find a seat as it can get quite steep during the ride.

  4. Once you reach the top, exit the tram. Follow the pathway to the escalator and head to the highest level for the Sky Terrace. (You will need to have bought the Sky Pass tickets to be able to enter.)

  5. Breathe the fresh air and enjoy the view!

Recommended time to visit

Any time is great to visit.
Hint: Avoid evening time if you do not like crowds.

Recommended things to bring

  • Camera is a must!
  • Tripod (if you want to take long exposure after dark)
  • Windbreaker/Jacket (Sky Terrace is about 400 meters above sea level. It can get chilly.)
  • Patience to queue for the Tram if you decided to go during peak hours.

Hope this information is helpful for you.
