A City A Story Photo Weekly Contest #8 Palengke
I live in a city called Davao. And as an agricultural country, you would expect Philippines to be abundant of nature's products. From where our house is located, I could count that there are five wet markets within the one kilometer radius. The below photo is the largest market near our place.
Market in our language is 'Palengke'. You can find fresh red and white meat, fruits, vegetables and even fresh flowers in our palengke. A very timely thing, same as captured in the photo, we have had fried fish for dinner yesterday. XD
I always get amused what a market has to offer. Many products, sometimes unique enough, are available. Prices are reasonable too. One great feature in our palengke would be the public weighing scales. It would be placed somewhere in the center of a market, and anyone can use it freely. This is to ensure the just measurements of what you bought. Amazing, right?
How about you? What do you think makes your market different from the others?
I'd like to thank @aaronli for his weekly contest. By the way, I'm using my phone camera Nokia 6, stock camera app.
Till next story, next time! ;)
