"Turn of the Cards by Renaissance" (1975)

"Turn of the Cards" (released in 1975) is the name of the fifth studio album produced by the British band, Renaissance. This work confirms the level of quality presented in "Ashes are Burning" and we could even say that it goes further. There are not many variations in the style that Renaissance follows from the previous album. The group continues to electrify their sound a little more to the detriment of the folk of their beginnings. The main interest of "Turn of the Cards" is centered in the composition of the songs, the structure of the melodies, the exquisiteness and perfection of the instrumentation and the masterful symphonic arrangements. It is incredible that Renaissance have been able to create a marvel such as "Mother Russia", where symphonic-progressive rock as a genre of music reaches its highest peaks of beauty and perfection ... Everything is beautiful in "Turn of the Cards", the melodies, the symphonic backgrounds, an Annie Haslam more angelic than ever (pay attention to the subtle choruses), the orchestral arrangements, etc ... an album highly recommended for demanding ears ... =)
