HOW CLICKBAIT WORKS!

Yeah, that was a bad clickbait title. Let me explain.
Clickbait is mostly hated on the internet, probably because it's mostly fake nowadays.
Still, there are good kinds of clickbait.
But first, how does clickbait work?

Well, it's pretty simple, you need a picture that will attract people (on YouTube people mostly use half-naked women). One of the best things to do on that picture is to put a red circle somewhere, but blur the space it takes up, because that's how people won't be able to see what's inside the circle. It interests people, and although most people know what's going on and say it's stupid, they'll still click. You'll also need a title that's specifically written in CAPS, usually ending with an exclamation or a question mark (or both, presumably "SHE DID WHAT?!!"). The title is usually not related to the title (Especially on YouTube, there people put clickbait titles and clickbait thumbnails on 20min videos, but only showcase what the title says in under a minute, or not at all.)

That's how bad clickbait works. But, as I said, there is also good clickbait.
Good clickbait consists of an actual good title, that is interesting by itself. Good clickbait has the title being related to the post.
The thumbnails usually do also consist of red circles, but people don't blur what's inside them. The titles are sometimes written in caps, but they are related to the actual post, so that doesn't matter.

So yeah, that's how clickbait works. It's quite obvious, but I wanted to point it outt.
Clickbait can be a real problem on the internet. Most of the big websites consist of 70% bad clickbait nowadays. Luckilly, steemit does not. I've read hundreds of posts here, and everything is good, at least for me.
Clickbait mostly pisses people off now, unfortunately. There are some good and interesting posts that do live to their titles and thumbnails.
We can't stop clickbait, but we can make it better. So please, if you see some obvious bad clickbait on any website, don't click on it, it does everyone a favor.
