Blockchain & IoT: on the edge of a new economy
Yesterday I was invited to the conference “Blockchain & IoT: what’s it all about?” in Shanghai, curated by Konstellation.
Three speakers were invited on the stage with @shanghaipreneur: Julian Wu from Aergo, Brady Luo everiToken, CEO of everiToken public chain, and Adel Shahin from DECENT.
The main subject of the conference was that sensors will be more and more present in our daily life, and the datas generated by these ones will be enormous. Currently we know that the Cloud will not be fast enough to handle it. As Julian well said, you can accept 5s loading from your mailbox to update, but not from an autonomous vehicle in the streets.
Moreover, all the datas generated by users will need to belong to each user, to prevent us from data theft. That means that we have to take control of it and companies will have to pay for it. Blockchain could make this possible.
Finally, Nicholas Krapels (Prof. K 教授) raised an interesting point: Trade war between China and the U.S is about 5G, which will allow the transfer of data faster than we have ever seen. Indeed, this technology will enable all the applications mentioned. The first one who is able to master these techs will benefit from this neweconomy that is coming.
Oh, and the food & the view was great!
