11-year-old girl speaks out after her dog dies on United flight
Sophia Ceballos was traveling on a United Airlines flight with her mother, baby brother and Kokito, her French bulldog puppy.
Kokito died during the trip after a flight attendant instructed the family to stow him in an overhead bin. "He was a member of our family,” Sophia said. “He was like my brother to me.”
A dog's sense of smell is reduced by up to 40 percent when he's overheated and panting.
