The G20 regulator, which pushed for banking and market reforms after the financial crisis, said it would shift more to review existing rules and would not set new rules for the time being.

The financial stability board (FSB), which co-ordinates the financial regulation of the G20 economies, has rejected requests from G20 members to regulate cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin.

Last year, as cryptocurrency prices rose, interest in them grew, and recent falls in market prices have prompted warnings from regulators in many countries.

但是，FSB表示，需要国际间更多的协调来填补数据缺口，以监控这项快速发展但仍然占比较小的领域，其价值仍然不足全球GDP的1%。
However, the FSB said there was a need for more international coordination to fill the gaps in the data to monitor the rapidly growing but still relatively small area, still worth less than 1 per cent of global GDP.

Carney, the bank of England governor, who is chairman of the FSB, has said repeatedly that bitcoin does not pose a threat to global financial stability and that there is no need to pay too much attention.
