Where capitalism has gotten us so far

Capitalism has assured that the greed for profits by all means made it’s way into the top priorities in human society.
With it all sort of bizarre behaviors arose. To the point that we as species are completely oblivious to the fact that we are absolutely destroying our very habitat and our own mental and physical health with it.
Let’s just go through some numbers, this being written in 2017:

90% of sea life was extinct in the last 100 years
A conservative estimation by scientists says that between 200 and 2000 species are extinct every year.
Oil production to reach its peak very likely before 2020
If we keep consuming at the rate we are doing now, by 2050 the Earth will run out of resources.
At this rate, oceans will run out of fish by the year 2048
The richest 1% have more wealth than the remaining 99% combined
Nearly half of world’s population live in poverty

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that the kind of life we are living is NOT sustainable by any means AND there’s no other way out of this if not by a total collapse of the system feeding of it.
There’s no political solution. Hope that this or that party will make changes and therefore, solve the problem is naive.
This system REQUIRES, DEMAND and HUNGERS for the acquisition of debt in perpetuity, ever increasing debt. If this is stopped, the system collapses.
The acquisition of debt is encouraged by the means of consumerism. We should consume non-stop, acquire goods and services so the system keeps running. For that, they, the capitalists, came with all sorts of methods, the so called marketing, to keep us consuming and not only that, they came up with a whole system to create and develop consumers. From the day you’re born till the day you die, on this planet, you are indoctrinated to become a consumer, nothing more. You might be allowed to develop some skills just to operate whatever machinery or service or product they want you to operate and that’s it! Go to school, study hard, get good grades (meanwhile consuming of course), get to college, preferably taking a student loan. DEBT! THEY LOVE IT! (get a part time job while at it so you can consume - or a full time one, as many people do). Great! All the effort and time so far will pay itself out and you will have to go around knocking doors to get a job and be an employee!!! YEY! That is, working your ass off to make money and prosperity to someone else.
Ok, now that you’re in this envious position in society, get into more debt… A car loan and a mortgage will do, for starters. Get the car and the property (which will never be really yours, for if you don’t pay them taxes, they will take it from you) and pay your taxes.
Have kids and put them in their schools so they can indoctrinate them exactly like they did it to you. In most countries you have to pay - and very high prices - for your kids indoctrination. Sorry!
And there we go! Die being a good citizen, comply and conform, pay your taxes and consume the shit out of you.

If not, my friend, you are pretty much irrelevant for the economy, in a scale of a little irrelevant to extremely irrelevant, such is the concentration of wealth in the peak of the pyramid.
