My vintage watch collection #1 - ANGORA

in #collectibles7 years ago

This is one of my vintage watches collection which luckily bought a few years ago at Ebay. People may never aware the existence of this ANGORA Watch Company ( AWC ). However, there are some models from AWC which are very special and eye-catching watches such as pump-winding automatic watch and double-cased water proof trench watch. The rarest one which I am going to introduce you is this double large calendar windows , jumping calendar digital display, calendar setting through button on crown, rotating disc second dial, staybrite ( stainless steel ) case. Originally, the watch is not running and had some issues had to follow up - Hour hand is missing, broken screw on one of winding wheels, missing screws on tenth calendar dial and dial fixing screws. Since I am not an watch maker , I cannot fix all these problem issues. Fortunately, I have made this watch alive again with my limited knowledge and servicing. And now the watch is able to run and keeping good time. The imperfection makes this watch even more beautiful and historical to me.

Hello. Fantastic watch! These, so called, "large date" watches from the 1930s were manufactured by Helvetia using their calibre 75A movement. Have a look at my site here https://www.helvetiahistory.co.uk/helvetia-large-date-watches

I would love to see a picture of the movement and use some of your pictures of how the date disks work on my site.

Thanks. Carl.

Hello Gary, I have few questions regarding the watch, would it be possible to get in touch? thanks, tomas

Hello Tomas, if you cannot get in touch with Gary I have a page on these watches here https://www.helvetiahistory.co.uk/helvetia-large-date-watches and may be able to help you. Thanks. Carl.
