My Travel Adventures - Trinidad, Colorado - The New Cannabis Retail Capital

I had the opportunity to visit Trinidad, Colorado. Good thing I did. Rumor has it this small town is making a comeback due to a law allowing them to make selling recreational cannabis a top priority.

It was explained to me that Trinidad is unique in the fact that retail marijuana shops don't have limitations on how close they can be to each other, unlike Denver. This allows these stores in Trinidad to conveniently locate themselves closely together, making shopping for marijuana products fun and easy.

Here I am lurking around the city, looking for answers.

I still wasn't convinced that Trinidad was special, so I did some research. I ended up reviewing city ordinances regarding the location for retail marijuana stores. These ordinance typically state what's allowed and what's not allowed.

Take a look for yourself. Here attached is "exhibit A" which is Section 14-211 of the Trinidad city ordinance which states what's allowed and what's not allowed in Trinidad.

I don't see anything that would prohibit cannabis stores from being nextdoor to each other.

Now compare that to the "exhibit b" which is Denver City ordinance Section 6-211, Licensing requirements for retail marijuana stores.

It says no retail marijuana store shall be "within 1,000 feet of any other retail marijuana store".

I'm not sure if this is solid evidence but I am convinced it's easy and fun to shop around for cannabis in Trinidad, Colorado.

This is the corner of N. Commercial St and E. Cedar St where a lot of the magic happens. There are at least 7 dispensaries right here, perfectly located.

Here is another nearby extravaganza of marijuana retail shops. Note: Extremely close proximity to interstate making for an effortless drive from virtually any location.

The choices are plentiful and the prices are very reasonable. It's hard to not get a bargain anywhere you go.

Look for the strains with the most distinguished smells and appearances. Notice the different characteristics of the indicas and sativas.

I did not forget to explore other parts of the city. Trinidad does not lack history or culture.

Follow the path? This city is small enough where any wrong turn can be an adventure, it would be hard to get lost.
