Autumn in Sydney. Australia. Orange. Colour Challenge. Ephemeral Art. Photography.
Flames the gentle heart.
For so long she has not known of her nobleness.
Opening to the energy of the Seed of Life.
She will draw upon its strength.
To stand on her own
Two feet.
~Ally.
After completing my Fourth Seven Day Covenant, I've set a new program for this week:
- To make some Magical Wands and maybe begin the Poles for my Homesteaders Co-Op store: Eco Curios.
- To make some small pure beeswax candles. I've bought the supplies needed from Stacks of Wax: Wicks and bases as well as some small glasses. I already have a block of pure beeswax and several glasses, collected over the years from secondhand stores.
- To totally re-arrange my studio and art materials. A friend gave me a nine cube storage shelf over the weekend which has been such an impetus to have everything in order again.
And then today:
Right down the very bottom of the garden, I saw one of my zygocacti in full bloom and couldn't resist picking a few of the flowers and making this ephemeral art arrangement.
The camellia trees have been spectacular in Sydney this autumn, but there aren't many other flowers about yet.
I wanted something very tiny in the centre, to complement the tangerine flowers and was delighted to find some miniature deep purple and pale lemon pansies in the front garden.
The spiral shells emphasised the six 'directions' and the feathers were added as a soft contrast.
Every time you suppress some part of yourself:
Or allow others to play you small:
You are in essence:
Ignoring the owner’s manual:
Your creator gave you. ~Oprah Winfrey.
Be noble, and the nobleness that lies in other men,
Sleeping but never dead, will rise in majesty to meet thine own.
~James Russell Lowell.
A creative who is learning to trust the mystery of what will be.
A spirit that is willing to fly into new creative realms and share the journey. ~Ally.

Gentle colourst looks outstanding @allyinspirit exceptionally pretty flowers.
Ah.... thanks for sharing your design and photography! It is really quite soothing to look at!
Lovely quotes and expressions, @allyinspirit!
@allyinspirit, In this dynamic life we need to pursue the pleasantness of nature so that we can receive the balance. And in my opinion you've made wonderful art with these petals. Stay blessed.

The suburb I grew up in had camellia trees everywhere. There was so many dropped flowers in the gutters around my school and grandparent's house, it was very colourful on the roads.
Great images. :)
Such wonderful memories to still have @holoz0r. When I think of my grandparent's home, I think roses and dahlias and sweetpeas mainly ~ As well as my grandfather's orchid glasshouse.
It's been a particularly beautiful camellia season. I'd usually be out photographing them ~ But this year just enjoying them, seems to be enough.
Pleased you like the images. Was fun working in this way again. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
I've been wondering around with camera a lot lately. Falling back in love with shooting in manual mode. It'll be interesting to see my own view through the lens when I have some more experience under my belt again.
The magic of the camera to take one of those memories and moments in time and preserve it is so life-affirming.
I won't lie, the use of the word "ephemeral" in your post definitely attracted me to these images in a different way - the fact that through the arrangements of these objects, and the capture of that moment - we know they'll not last.
I love your photographs of the Aussie parklands. Our bush is so different. I always used to love the 'perfect' in nature, but for sometime now I've gravitated more to the unruly scraggliness of our bush. The more tangled the better.
Yes, there's something about photographing a moment that's so magical ~ That moment being gone but the recall seems to be strengthened because you can then remember all the other impressions that were coming to you while you were photographing.
I find now there are two ways of being sensitive to what's around us ~ One, without a camera and the other with a camera. Both can heighten awareness, just in different ways. I find it hard sometimes to be in the bush without my camera ~ But know it's essential for overall well-being.
I often make lots of arrangements from the one basic structure ~ And when I've exhausted all the visual possibilities, the flowers go into water and the shells and feathers back to their little houses/bowls so they can take part in another design, another time. Love working in this way. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Wow! One day I will learn how to do a beautiful and well worded post like you my friend. But first I will have to fix the leak in my mind, as what I learn today I forget tomorrow Lol.
Incidentally, I have also done an Autumn post today, but nothing as classy as yours, as mine is like I am, a simple soul of the spirit.
Blessings!

Thanks so very much @papilloncharity. Greetings from 'one simple soul of the spirit' to another.
Oh, I understand only too well those gaps in the mind. Sometimes after making a piece, and I have no idea what it's about, I don't know what words will be there. If no words come, and they can't be forced, I'm fine with just sharing the image. However most times now ~ And it's taken some time to trust the process ~ Words do come.
I have to continually tell myself not to compare my 'writing' to the prose/poetry of others. So I simply let it be whatever it is. Extremely simple phrases of what's happening within and without me while writing.
I've been re-arranging my studio this week ~ And so I can't be here very much until it's done. Being focused on cleaning and clearing is so challenging when there are so many other things I'd prefer to be doing ~ Like looking at your Autumn post ~ Which I'm about to do now. !tip in appreciation of your comment. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
What a great reply here Lady Ally, or is it Aly?
Not comparing your words to any of the others is indeed most urgent, as to write from the truth in your heart is always essential. Soon you will find that others will copy your lead.
Even this is fallacy, as each of us have our own truths to display and it's wonderful to read the truths of others.
I mostly don't have to care what I write, as I simply let it flow and I think it's very similar to your own case.
And yet our truths are not the same, due to our different experiences in this thing that we call life.
However they hold equal value, as a simple truth stated is worth more than a bag full of lies that someone project themselves to be.
Charity work reveals the mirrors of many souls, as everyone has a story that mostly entails the "poor me" factor. This is good soil to toil for discernment purposes and one learns something new every day.
It is when one looks a bit deeper into the stories that the truth start to reveal itself and most of the time it's ugly truths that were covered over by the orators.
By sticking to plain honesty our posts attract all those with internal truth registers like our own.
The saying goes that we should surround ourselves with like minded people, as it will be sure to create true value in our lives!
I hope this comment is worth your kind tip and it was great to look through your eyes!
Blessings!
Stephen or Zac, whichever you prefer!
It's Ally @papilloncharity ~ Although my birth name is Alison so many people think it's Ali.
Yes, it's wonderful to read the truths of others: Our world expands just that much more. Often the truths of others resonate with our own too and so we can incorporate them into our own truth but somehow it will still take on our own 'flavour.'
I value your comment far beyond the tip. Have read it a few times. Thank you so much Zac. I like short names. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Thank you for liking the comment AlIy.
I feel that it's only respect to spell a persons name correctly.
My birthname is not short, same as yours as I am Zacharia, but I like Zac and only use it for my photos.
Everyone else calls me Stephen.
Blessings!
It's cool and it looks like a mandala)

So very touching your words are and your thoughts combined take me to a place of peace.

Thanks so very much Denise. I looked at the quality of nobleness initially in association with coral/orange: As I said to @goldendawne it's easier to see all our faults than to recognize our 'virtues.' However, when we acknowledge these 'higher' qualities are also within us ~ We can be more wholistic in our view of ourselves. Still a work in process and guess it always will be. Too late to upvote so a !tip in appreciation.
Re-arranging my studio this week ~ And there's so much under the surface that needs re-ordering ~ But I hope/know it will have a +ve effect on my future creative work. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
This post fills me with so much joy! Your magic is working 💖
Thanks so much Liza. Orange has the quality of joy too. The orange/coral shade of these flowers was like when the light of the late afternoon sun glows.
The more I re-arrange my studio, the more is revealed that needs re-ordering. Overcoming the inertia to 'do it' is such a challenge, but I know it will be worth it. Too late to upvote your comment, so a !tip in appreciation. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
