ColorChallenge Monday Red - BottleBrush and Bees

My contribution to the #colorchallenge #mondayred initiated by @kalemandra are these two photos of the plant/tree commonly known as the bottlebrush due to the look of the flowers that resembles the tool known as a bottle brush that is popular to clean babies' bottles when they are bottle fed.

I'm sometimes amazed at how hardy these trees can be, bringing forth flowers in conditions like cold and drought. I noticed today that the tree that grows in my backyard, has a few small flowers but I did not have time to go and take photos of it but I know that in a few days the tree will be full of lovely red flowers. I've even seen the one in my neighbour's yard starting to bloom.

The scientific name of these plants is Callistemons and even if they are classified as invasive plants in South Africa, they still bring so much color and beauty to gardens.

And the bees love to gather in these flowers! Can you see the bee in one of these photos?
