In this post I present you pictures of the plant (Bird of Paradise).
History
Bird of paradise is from five species of perennial plants, native to South Africa . Its from the family of Strelitziaceae.
The genus is named after the duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, birthplace of Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom.
In South Africa it is caller crane flower.
Description
In it family it is the largest one reaching almost 10m in height .
The leaves are large, 30–200 cm long and 10–80 cm broad, similar to a banana leaf in appearance but with a longer petiole.
Allergenic:
Plants in the genus Strelitzia produce no windborne pollen, and have an OPALS allergy scale rating of 1 (considered "allergy-fighting").
What does the flower represent ?
Bearing an unmistakable resemblance to a brightly colored bird in flight, bird of paradise are native to south Africa and represent joyfulness and (not surprisingly) paradise itself
