Something new and recent in the past couple years is the sunflower fields on Maui. The island of Maui has been transitioning out of growing sugarcane that the islands in Hawaii used to be famous for.
Now with all the land, it's not a surprise that some companies are coming in to grow other types of plants.
The sunflower field on Maui definitely adds beauty to the landscape and has been such a tourist attraction hit.
Before it got super popular, people would frolick amongst the sunflowers, but the company that owns the field now has been cracking down on people who have been taking the sunflowers. The land that the sunflowers sits on is private property, so they no longer allow people to randomly frolick in the fields.
I for one, believe people should just enjoy it from a distance and not take those sunflowers.
