FLOWERING ECHEVERIA (COLORCHALLENGE MONDAY RED)

in #colorchallenge6 years ago (edited)

Here are some photos I took today of a type of succulent thats flowering in our backyard at the moment. You will have to excuse the black hairs on the flowers, it looks like Inca, our black cat has been enjoying rubbing herself on them, and I didn't notice until I looked at the photos inside the house.

Apparently this succulent is a type of Echeveria, but there are so many species of these that I am really not sure exactly which one it is. So if anyone knows, (nikv)😊 I would love to find out. Echeverias are native to Mexico and Central America and are drought tolerant. They are supposed to be easy to grow, which must be true because we have pretty much completely ignored this one because we have been so busy and it seems to be doing well, it even has a couple of pups popping up. The flowers are absolutely stunning and were a lovely suprise when we spotted them in our backyard.
