Sarangani Province, Philippines is known for its stunning white sand pristine beaches and large exports of quality tuna. But one of the amazing and colorful tradition they are least known for is their handloom weaving and garments making.

This particular craft is mastered by a number of Moro Women of Sarangani also known as the Balungis Women Association. The cultural site is located at Barangay Tuyan with at least eighteen regular and trained weavers.

They produce shawls, bags, wallets and other garments, all done by hand.

The process is very intricate and take a lot of time but they sure are of great quality.

The Hand Weaving tradition of the Moro women is one solid proof that despite the rise of technology, the most precious, priceless and beautiful things are done by creative hands and refined by time; and that no amount of civilization eliminates a rich culture and authenticity.
