Lesbian Zombies from Outer Space - Horror Comedy Graphic Novel - Pages 1-3
Welcome to the first pages of Lesbian Zombies from Outer Space - a horror comedy graphic novel where a flawed male sexual fantasy becomes a nightmare!
Rather than offer just one page per post, I plan to upload 2-3 at a time. I think one page per blog can get a little infuriating.
In addition to the comic art, I've added a page at the bottom that shows the evolution of the art, some of the script, and even some of the email conversation back and forth between me and the artist. Hope you get a kick out of it!

Wow! Did you see that guy's hammer?!
Okay, so I fooled you. The first two pages are a classic case of the "porn-within-the-story" trope. As you read along, you'll come to find that Captain Hammer plays an important role in the life and outlook of our hero, Ace Johnson. If you've never heard of these classic 80s porn videos, you'll walk away from this story with a new-found appreciation for them, if nothing else.
Take a look below where I've made available a sketchbook page that examines the making of Page 1. You can see that where the script called for a ship that looked like a penis, my artist Wayne chose to up the ante and add a vagina. And that, my friends, is what collaboration is all about!

I am so glad you chose to not go with 1 page per post. A few comics on here I was intested in I stopped following because the progression is so slow. I can't read a page every few days.
I agree, it makes it hard, and I when deciding how to proceed, I tried to put myself in a reader's shoes. It's also hard to see any progression in the story with only one page at a time.
Thanks for reading!
Great start, very 1950's pulp-y art style!
Simply AWESOMENESS!!!!
Amazing! Freddy Mercury was there... haha
Nice one!
Upvoted and followed... Thanks
Thanks for taking a look!
I doubt you would find this kinda funny stuff produced today lol - awesome post - upvoted and following :)
Very amazing!
Welcome to the freak show, you will find many talented and likeminded folks here that will help you push your art. You get out what you put in. ^^
Needless to say that I'm very glad I found this and it easily earns a resteem :)
Awesome - thanks for the resteem!
You bring the quality, I tune the signal.
Rock on!
This is great! Are you creating this exclusively for Steemit or is this something of your own that you're repurposing? I don't care either way, because I think the concept is cool. I'll keep an eye out for the rest of your work. I love the sketches and the back and forth between you and your artist. I'm creating a creature for a horror short film here on Steem - #changelingfilm - and I have a good, collaborative relationship with my artist as well.
It's so empowering when your artists bring their ideas to the table and when they're good ideas it's even better! Best of luck on Steemit.
Upvoted, followed and resteemed!
Hey, thanks for the resteem! This is actually a finished graphic novel, but I'm going to release pages here along with some commentary and behind-the-scenes stuff. That part is exclusive. New to steemit, and I love the idea of being able to share and support each other here. At the same time, I'm just starting to work on another graphic novel, Polis: The Trial of Socrates - and so any releases there on pages and background will be very in-the-moment.
I've followed you too - good luck on the short film! Creating a creature from scratch should be a lot of fun.. :)
Wonderful! I’ll be keejng an eye out for your new pages. A story about Socrates sounds really cool. The story of his trial is very interesting. We’ll see about this creature film. I’m always worried my eyes are bigger than my stomach. ;).
Indeed. Lesbian Zombies actually started as a feature script - so I know film is expensive and hard. :)
Oh my God, how do we get Lesbian Zombies made!?!? It would be incredible to see that title on a marquee.
That's what I've been trying to figure out. :) I figure the best way to do it is build an audience around the idea. So that's why I started down the comic route.
Hehehe, nice idea, I would have been happy for such a comic when I was a kid.
Best regards
Tom
This is amazing. Well, I do love to read Manga and Comics. Even the art looks cool 😲
Thanks! Stick around - I'll be sharing plenty more.
I like what you're doing man, keep up the good work. I will follow you for more
