What Is This? (Obvious Pedophile on Korean TV)

On a TV show, a father admitted to playing with his son's "private part" and that he had been doing it since his son was a baby. His wife is shown thinking "You should change as he grows up". The son then hits his father and, in a phone interview, said that he hated having his privates touched. He seems camera-shy and turns to his father when the camera comes to him, but this does not negate the possibility that the father's words were true.

Certain people will say things for shock value. Even if this is a lie for shock value or some sort of bizarre sketch, it is deeply troubling that this would be aired on Korean TV for people to laugh at. I hope that this is some form of black comedy that raises awareness of child sexual abuse and pedophilia, but, in this day and age, it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell satire and dark humor from real accounts of events.

I only watched the clip and not the full episode of this show, so I'm giving the producers the benefit of the doubt. However, I'm still deeply disturbed by the clip and hope the child and the wife can leave this man and recover from what they have gone through. The wife said her husband pulls their son's pants down and says "I must show what our son's got." Other reactions show disgust, shock, and some nervous laughter which are to be expected in this context.
