Why can't govts act in concert for Once? My Corona Rant
There is a pall of fear and helplessness spreading. The lack of trust in the authorities to do All that is possible on one hand and the unprecedented surge in infections on the other, may be the reasons.
One would think that in this war against COVID-19 the dithering of uncharismatic generals would have been apparent. Today the co-operation among nations and top pharma and research companies seems strained. One company/ research house says we need to do "X" now. Another says maybe "Y" would be better. To muddle up the situation One President says "Don't listen to anyone, we got this." Another says, "We desperately need many more medical kits and support paraphernalia"
UK closes borders to neighbors while China sends help. India acts like an ostrich while several nations enforce complete lockdown.
If a dozen of the worlds most powerful leaders and businessmen join hands and act in concert. Thousands and Millions of people will be spared from infection and possible death.
No one knows at this point what to do about it. There is no cure as of yet. The only measure that could be taken is containment and preventing more people to get contaminated.
Constant gargling of your throat with some disinfectant (like drinking soda dissolved in water helps) as the virus if you have gotten it into your throat lives there for four days before moving to the lungs where it causes real damage.
It will take several months for pharm companies to come up with the vaccine. The problem is that by this time the pandemic will pass on its own and pharmacological companies won't make any money just like they didn't make money on previous viruses. Only the government can make this order. But where would it get the money to pay for it? It would have to raise taxes. And in the time of no threat would the taxpayers agree to that measure?
They're not even testing for antibodies. AND it's COV-2 (SARS). According to the official CDC website.
How does one virus "cause" another virus??
Nobody has been able to identify (isolate) antibodies specific to COVID-19 yet. This makes all current testing inconclusive.
And, The World Health Organization,
They only claim to be able to identify genetic markers for COV-2 (SARS).
