Fiction Comp - All writers are welcome - Introduction
Hello, fellow writers!
Welcome to the fiction writing competition.
This is just an introductory post for the competition and the competition won't begin until a few days later. I will be explaining how the competition will be run in this post.
Fiction competition is open to all writers who would like to showcase their skills to the world. Being an avid reader, I wanted to do something that would help nurture the writers of today and after talking with a few people I decided to come up with this competition. Participants will have to write a short story between 750 to 1500 words on a given scenario. This will help them to hone their skills on a variety of different situations and be able to learn more things. All you have to do in order to take part in this competition is follow @kyrios, upvote and resteem the competition post. The more coverage it gets the more writers will be able to take part in the competition.
1: Provide writers with a suitable environment to showcase their skills and receive criticism as well as advice.
2: Guide potential writers to Peace, Abundance & Liberty fiction workshop to have their contents critiqued, gain more insight from other writers. You can read more about how to join P.A.L here.
3: @aggroed created Steem shelves and hopefully your content will end up there for more users to eventually find one day and enjoy reading.
I have thought long and hard about how this competition should be run...trust me it was not an easy decision to make but in the end, I decided on the following. The competition will run for two weeks. On the first week, the post with the writing prompt will be put up and writers will have 3 to 4 days to enter their stories. The stories will be screened and judged both by myself and other people.
Those stories that qualify for the second and final round will be announced in another post. People will be able to vote on these stories. Though voting will play a part in the decision-making process to choose the winner...it will not be the only method. There are 5 judges who will be the critics to score your work and their score will be added to the number of votes you receive to determine the final winner. I have already spoken with the judges but in order to ensure fairness, I will not be naming them and they have also agreed to stay anonymous.
The winner of the competition will be able to walk away with the SBD from the pot for both the first week and the second week of the competition's posts. In case of a tie in score, the one with the highest scoring average from the judges will be chosen as the winner.
If anyone would like to donate to the competition they are welcome to send it to me and I will add it to the pot by mentioning it in the memo.
1: Follow @kyrios, Upvote and Resteem the competition post.
2: Make sure the short story has a minimum of 750 words and a maximum of 1500 words.
3: The short story should be based around the prompt given in the competition post.
4: Comment the link to your Steemit short story in the competition post.
Please let as many writers know about this competition by re-steeming this post. I look forward to seeing you all for the competition and your amazing works. :)

this will be great. I have a question.. are we allowed to put it through the workshop?
Yes you can but you will have to still paste the link in the competition post and also inform them that it is for the fiction competition. The workshop will critique it and they will also give you advice on how to better your writing skills for the future.
Tagged to read more later. I'm always up for a good writing challenge!!
Of course with the Fictioneers watching, what chance do I have? Grrr @bex-dk hahaha
You never know...maybe the prompt might be something that is a forte of yours and you can really shine. It will also show the world a new writing style. :) Never give up hope, never say no!
