Core count vs Clock speed - Which one is for video rendering? (Especially After Effects)

in #computer7 years ago (edited)

We have seen so many CPU lines up released in 2017 from both AMD and Intel side. But which one is the best CPU for video rendering?

If you take a look closely, you will clearly see that core count is not matter at all in Premiere Pro from disable Hyperthread in Xeon E5-2670. Seriously, Adobe should improve their CPU and GPU optimisation.

Should I wait for Ryzen 2?

No. Because their higher clock speed still below than 5.0GHz even you overclock them.

Conclusion:
Adobe forces us to use high clock speed CPU instead of core count. You can buy Ryzen if you do heavy multitasking.

Keep in mind that don't buy too expensive CPU for Adobe software. You will regret it for sure.
