Peacedriving or "How to be a Whitehat in your spare time and earn money for total beginners"

Welcome to this little technique i call peacedriving.

First let's talk about the stupid name. It's just the opposite of the so called "wardriving". If you are wardriving you are trying to find vulnerable Wifi-networks to penetrate. You do this by receiving the type of encryption a router shows and tagging it to a geolocation. To get a good amount of data on routers you do this while driving around. Old encryption techniques like WEP are rarely used anymore so you have to drive quite a bit to find a router using it. Therefore it is very easy to crack a WEP wifi open. Once a hacker has cracked your wifikey you are sold. He could just do everything you can do and more. Watching you masturbate through your camera, use you as a bot, disguise himself in a way like it would look like you performed all the slimy actions he has done through your network etc etc. The bad scenarios are endless.

So let's spoil the plans of the blackhats and try to help the people vulnerable to this.
Things you need:

1. knowledge if the following is legal in your country
2. a smartphone
3. a printer

So first off you install the app g-mon on your smartphone. This is an app that allows you to perform wardriving and peacedriving. You have to turn on location and wifi. After walking around a bit you press the button "daily wlan export" and after that "wlan kml export" in the menu. You get an .kml that you have to open up with google earth. Now you can see every wlan that the app was able to record. A red color stands for WPA2, orange for WPA, yellow for WEP and green for open. In our case we are looking for the yellow dots. Also you always need to delete the .txt and .kml file you generated if you want to add new locations by generating these 2 files again.

The next step is setting up a letter that doesn't scare(or at least just a little) the owner of the WEP-router, tells him excactly how he can fix his WEP problem(order a new router from his ISP) and your bank information in case he wants to treat you to a coffee for your help. You could tell him first of the risks of having WEP encryption, then how to fix it and afterwards to change the pre-installed router password and how to create a good password.

The final step includes walking around with g-mon on, finding vulnerable networks, tell the owners how to fix them with a letter and hoping for them to be grateful and actually send you a couple of bucks.

Beware: this is not legal in every country, you need to inform yourself. Also if you tell them you would fix it for them for money you will land in jail in most countrys so always remind to deliver the information needed to fix the problem right away and don't demand the money. Also don't be a dick and ask for it. Just something like "if you want to spend me a coffee here is my bank".
