Generally torrent websites are prone to many malware and malicious contents which can affects a user's computer. Using this advantage, A torrent website named 'Piratebay' embedded their website with JAVAscript cryptocurrency miner to mine cryptocurrency using the visitor's PC each time he wants to access the website.

Actually, the fact is Torrents websites are actually banned in many countries. They don't receive any funding from anywhere except the Ads they put on their website which doesn't earn them much in order to maintain that website. So Piratebay revealed Torrentfreak, another torrent website, that they are using crypto mining technique to earn funds for website maintenance using their visitor's CPU.

The cryptocurrency which are being mined is Monero (XMR) which is actually an anonymous transactions supportive cryptocurrency. 

As we all know, crypto mining can be highly profitable especially nowadays when crypto trends are on the highest point. Using the advantage of their users, Piratebay mined many Monero without even notifying their users that their PC are being used for crypto currency mining. 

This shady technique got revealed when a user felt some high pressure on his PC's processor whenever he tried to access the website. 

After seeing this, we will advise every user to be highly cautious while accessing some shady website or using torrent. In fact people should stop using torrent websites altogether as they're prone to many virus and malicious content which can affect a person's PC and damage their storage devices.
