Stephen Hawking's Family to Invite Time Travellers to His Funeral. And Why They Will Not Show Up

The late Professor Stephen Hawking once famously held a party for Time Travellers, but only sent the invitations out after the party took place. Unsurprisingly, none showed up.

The media are now reporting that the genius physicist’s family are to invite Time Travellers to his funeral.

It is a funny story; however it does raise some genuine questions for those who have seriously considered the possibility of time travel.

There has never been any solid proof of time travellers’, but if time travelling is achieved at some point in the future, then you would expect to see them all the time, at every historically important event.

There are, in my opinion, 5 possible reasons for why we don’t see them

1- Time travel is impossible and cannot physically be done

2- They don’t go back in the same timeline in order to preserve their own, so the universe splits into a duplicate identical earth with the same history up to the point of the jump

3- Similar to the above but the traveller jumps back to any possible number of almost identical parallel universes. So there are time travellers popping up all over the place, but the likelihood of them appearing in our particular universe is small when the possible number of universes are infinite

4- Time travel is possible in the future but they can only go back as far as the time that time travel was invented and no further. Hence we don’t see them in this pre-time travel age

5- Time travel goes on all the time right under our noses, but is so regulated and controlled in the future that very strict measures are in place to ensure they are not spotted. With future technology this should be easy for them to do without us noticing

There are probably other possible reasons, and I would love to hear other people’s theories, however these are the only ones I can think of other than, they choose not to, which I would find unlikely.

Or is it a case of point number one; that it is physically impossible to do so, and that no amount of technological improvement in the future will allow us to ever time travel?
