Some adherents of the flat Earth use global elites as a means to escape from the discussion so that they don't lose face.

When you can't prove a flat Earth model, some flat Earthers will say that the flat Earth model is still in research, and it's natural if it's not perfect. "But," of course there is a continuation, "the most important thing is how we fight the global elite and save the world from a handful of bad people."

The real fact is that the global elite is only a scenario of their own creation.

The global elite is just an ad-hoc hypothesis created to patch many things that are inconsistent with flat Earth models. They create a global elite scenario because it is not possible to explain the theory of the Earth flat without slandering other people conspiracy.

Let's analyze an ad-hoc hypothesis chain below:

Antarctica is the edge of the Earth, not a continent, but is a giant wall of ice that surrounds the Earth.
We can't go there to make sure, there is a global elite that forbids us from coming.

Without a conspiracy at 3, number 2 will still be an open hypothesis, and only the truth will be known after we send the investigation team there. But they don't want us to know the truth! So, they just determined that it was impossible for us to go there by creating a conspiracy theory at 3. By doing so, they did not provide an opportunity for anyone to prove number 2. They only assumed 2 true because there would never be evidence to the contrary. If there are people who claim to have been to the South Pole, they will accuse him of lying, or are part of the conspiracy of the global elite. In this way, 1 cannot be proven to be incorrect (not falsifiable) due to the existence of a conspiracy theory at 3, which is also not falsifiable.

The only way to prove the existence of a global elite is to go back to the next step and prove the true shape of the Earth. From our own observations, it is not difficult to conclude that the Earth is round. Because of that, it is impossible for a global elite to hide the 'fact' that the Earth is flat.
