As a professional violinist, I am constantly checking ahead to see what sort of concerts and programmes that are coming up. It is a sort of triage, some concerts require very little practice time whilst others will need a month or two of lead in time. Mostly, it will be just a few lines or pages here or there that will require detailed attention.

Then there is the question of instrument maintenance and upkeep. Replacing false strings if there is a moment where a particular instrument isn't needed or delayed repairs to temporarily sidelined instruments and bits.

Otherwise, it is the mundane housekeeping. Taxes, emails, invoice writing...
