Good quality is often hardly seen but bad quality can't ever be ignored.

Snapshot from @originalworks announcement this morning
Last week a friend who I introduced here was telling me that it looks like this platform does not reward quality content after all. He said that when he joined he thought it was all about quality so he kept in days of research into his articles and ended up earning next to nothing on them. This he said, dumped his spirit and now he does not feel the urge to put in so much work since it wont be noticed anyways and truly it has reflected in the quality of his recent articles. Now he deals more with memes and things like that ignoring completely his great asset of producing great content.
Well, I'm not saying memes are bad, in fact I do them a lot because I love to laugh too, I spend a lot of time on Dmania just laughing out. What I mean is that he now hardly post articles and I can't blame anyone for it but in a way the platform has a role to play in making great writers feel @appreciator -ed (haha).
Anyways I told him he should not give up on quality because that is what defines him and when he reverts to creating poor quality just because his good work is not seen he would end up getting defined by poor quality instead of the great writer I know him to be. I chose not to reveal him however for the purposes of confidentiality but he will know when he reads this.
The fact is that truly, quality is hardly seen but poor quality can't ever be ignored. What have you noticed? when you go to class early the lecturer comes and insults all of you just because some decided not to come early meanwhile he would not commend you those who are there for coming early,. In fact, you will receive the insults on the behalf of those that truly deserved it. This is the practicality of this very saying.
I think I should rather make another article for that, I am veering off topic obviously
Well, I have often had sweet comments from the Ghana community about the nature of my articles but you know, the votes from these admirers are not so heavy, but their words goes right into my heart and this encourages me to keep putting in my best. I try to grow from article to article, improving myself. After all, I was told this platform was built for quality content and this is the true value of the platform.
Readers should be treated like the kings they are and their precious time and attention should be respected. This is the reason why I can't endorse lousy work here. Anytime I write, I put it in my mind that the queen of England could be my audience or @dan or @ned any great person I cannot take for granted.
Last week I decided to enter @originalworks contest in a bid to increase my visibility and also earn something and truly my first ever entry into the contest which was sponsored by Dogezer got me a 6th place and I got some 12 STEEM + 1 bonus making it 13 STEEM. I was even shocked because I really never thought I could make it into their top 35.

When I won the STEEM I was excited and then I got notified by @contestbot that there was another contest sponsored by Crafty. I went to their website and understood what they were offering, I believed in it and I allowed my passion to lead me this time with this entry, I won the contest as announced by @originalworks
I want to use this to encourage fellow Plankton and dust account owners who are great writers, don't ever be discouraged by the pending payout on your work, that is not the true value, take pride in the small comments that come in and the number of people that viewed it. Keep pushing from article to article as you moved towards becoming Minnows. Join and part take in contests.
Also learn the politics of this platform and endeavor to identify with a community or more. When your time to earn comes you would smile. Enjoy the process of the writing. Thanks for your attention

It's indeed true that sometimes we get dumpened when quality posts don't receive appreciable recognition but i believe you have thrown light on the way forward, that we shouldn't give up just yet. Thanks for sharing @ehmkannde, I know what to do now.
Thanks my mentor, I am glad we are growing together

Wooow, I figured as much. Congrats bro, You deserved it.
Today you have to sponsor some waakye. lol
Thanks bro, we go crush for campus
I completely agree with you! Great content isn't appreciated that much anymore, it's like people expect to see good content and so it's not getting the attention it should, whereas the posts in which people don't put that much effort in still gets a lot of attention. I feel like since many of us discovered that even by putting in only 5 minutes instead of an hour they still get the same amount of upvotes and comments! But it's is very much appreciated by me and I'm sure many others on Steemit to read something interesting and see a post in which a lot of work was put it! Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks for you thorough comment, I appreciate your attention. Lets just keep trying bro, it shall get better.
Congrats good friend...
We sometimes think we have nothing good within but they are worth to someone
that is a fact
Congratulations bro for winning @ehmkannde
