PAPA-PEPPER'S WILD & STRANGE CONTEST SEASON 16 - ROUND 1 - PHOTO
This is the first round of the new season! Jump in if you want to!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this contest, it is a five week contest where you can enter any rounds that you like. Basically, we take a photo from the first round, turn it into some artwork for the second round, make a meme out of the artwork for the third round, make a poem in round four based off of the meme, and then eventually use that poem as lyrics for a song in round five.

On this one, it was the freestyle at the end that pushed @elrhey into the lead. He'll take home the 2.117 SBD & 2.509 STEEM from the Season 15 Round 5 post payout but that's not all!
WILD CARD
Yes, the elusive @papa-pepper "WILDCARD" where I choose to make someone a winner even though they did not win! Who is it this time? Check this video to find out. Since they had me singing along on the chorus, I've got to give them something! If only they had went out with a freestyle rap, they could have won! LOL!

Here is the progression that this contest follows.
ROUND 1 = PHOTO – Take a photo to enter.
ROUND 2 = ART – Use winning photo from Round 1 to make a piece of art.
ROUND 3 = MEME – Use winning art from Round 2 to make a meme.
ROUND 4 = POETRY – Use winning meme from Round 3 to make a poem.
ROUND 5 = SONG – Use winning poem from Round 4 to make an original song.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this contest, it is really quite an incredible concept. When a season starts, people submit photos and then each round builds upon the the previous rounds. Eventually, we wind up with a song at the end.
SEASON 16!
For Season 16 Round 1, we will open this contest up for any photo entry that you want to submit. All I ask is that you think about how it'll work as artwork, a meme, etc. as the contest progresses. As long as it is an original photo, it'll be considered.
To enter, take a photo of whatever you like and reply to this post with it! Get creative and have fun, and check out the official rules below.

I checked the post and don't see that phrase, but I have seen him say that many times. Take that rock out for a photoshoot!
LOL, We went for a ride for a quick photo shoot, I really wish they would have turned out better, too much sun, I'm not a good photographer, and I ran out of time. This is probably the best one I got, but I think the first one is still better. My head like exploded with ideas for a "ROCK" music papa-pepper video compilation. Queen - We Will Rock You would be awesome flashing pictures of the peppers and raised beds, rocks with mud on them etc. I just don't have the skill or time to do it.
I may have to go do the stop sign shot again. I was thinking rock may be free but your posts shouldn't be..... I was going to try to get up with @stacyalan and see if I could borrow a goat for an I ain't afraid of no Goat shot, but I forgot to ask when I saw him this morning.

I didn't have too, but I think I thought I said I would, and surprising people is half the fun of the steem blockchain! Its a blockchain that we can actually use to make people smile, among other things.
And this whole conversation, dating back to cobblestones, has made me laugh over and over again.
You probably haven't noticed but I have used your Irish Moss advice to consult a guy in Belgium fighting with weeds in his brick cracks.

It was actually a lot of fun, I don't think I can pull off the rap though. The hardest part was trying not to laugh while I was trying to sing.
My dog is always trying to eat stuff on the ground, well while I was snapping pictures my dog happened to be eating something and my husband grabbed her and pulled a tiny pinecone needle out of her mouth and I got this picture lol

So, saw you gave an upvote to my latest artwork post, what did you think of the EOS pieces ?
The very first one I made had a friend comment that he thought it was some kind of acid dream illustration !
or, if you're better at creating art, memes, poems or songs, wait till the next rounds of the competition come along, and work with the winning entry of the last round (so, for the artwork round, you'd make an artwork using the winning photo. For a meme round, you'd use the winning artwork, etc.,)
clear and concise :p ... since the post was 8 hours ago i'll assume round one lasts until july 30th (or 31st?)
i'm slowly and with much perseverance working my way through a backlog of replies which i have finished now and then up the feeds i like to check (which i keep in a separate bookmarks folder, after all, hot & trending is like watching prime time tv, right :p)
i can't assure inspiration will hit me hard enough to participate but the least i can do is re-steem it

Rudyard, some of the best things about Papa-Pepper's contests are that just about anyone can participate and, after an arbitrary amount of time, he runs them again. This Wild n' Strange has been a fan favorite for many many weeks now, so even if you don't get one in time for this week, you'll probably have about 5-6 weeks for the next round one, plenty of time to get motivated ;p
well, during my moments of clarity i try to get a bit of coding done on my own "projects" (sounds so fat when i use that word lol) but i have had an eye on homesteader ichiban #1 for a while, i think its a shining example of how its actually possible without daddy money, or cryptonnaire money or rolling over for cookies for a whale, just by doing what you do, because if you do what you, even if it doesn't pay off right off the bat, you will just be doing what you do anyway and that's not gonna burn you out :)
i wish stuff like that were possible in concrete belgium, but, despite the fact that i'm a bum and 45 yo i still plan to move out to a place with
more space and less humans ... if something hits my head with a meme i'll be sure to attend, otherwise i'll be cheering from the sidelines until the next one :)))

This is an interesting story to me, because I started growing on concrete, I built up bricks into a high planter and collected organic wastes around my community with a wheelbarrow. People looked at me like a crazy person as I filched their lawn clippings or transported bags of restaurant waste back to my home. But in the end we are still being rewarded with flowers, greens and tomatoes!
Do what you do, that way there is no burn out! I am in complete agreement, and hope to check out what you do soon too!

ah sorry sorry, (too much anime) "ichiban" is japanese , it means "number one" lol, its not a person i was referring to the way @papa-pepper does his "thing" ...
yea my parents just got a batch of tomatoes from my aunt and cousin, not sprayed, not tampered, the taste really can't compare to these frozen-waterballs you buy in supermarkets. Lots of people here spray poison still, weedkiller, with the notion that it is "bio-degradable" but i dont think they really understand that it just permeates the whole ground and BEFORE it's degraded actually gets sucked up by about everything that grows in it and subsequently by everything that eats that, and eventually by meat-eaters who eat THAT
i actually wanted to ask a question to someone who knows a bit about perma, but i didnt come to it yet... in my parents garden there's these little pathways laid in bricks but the weeds always grow from between the cracks, now both they and me are 100% opposed against any kind of weedkiller but my mother really likes it when it looks crisp so its literally scrapping it from every crack and crevice so i wondered
do you know anything that might act as 100% natural weedkiller there, when sprayed or bristled on the paths because im really not one for scraping on my knees, something must exist, right ?

There are some good suggestions, planting an irish moss in the gaps was maybe my favorite, a bit of work but it grows so tight that no weeds have room. With more work you can lay plastic under the bricks and fill the gaps with gravel,but it sounds a little late for that.
Maybe, now we have used this strategy around the farm, you can lay black plastic over the weeds for a few days (some plants take weeks), the lack of sun is the no. 1 one hundred percent natural plant killer I know of. Thats all I can think of right now, maybe hire a neighbor kid and pay him in ice cream sandwiches?
