PENNSIF'S PICKS : Best Community, Best Steemian & Best Post of the Month [October 2022]
As a long time Steemian one of my main goals is to help maintain the quality of the platform.
Now as a Community Witness (@pennsif.witness) I want to push this goal further by hosting a monthly contest to reward the very best that Steem has to offer.
Each month I will reward the Best Community, the Best Steemian and the Best Post.
The initial prize pool will be 10,000 SP of delegation and 500 TRX.
The Best of the Month
Each month I will be looking for winners in three categories...
- Best Community
- Best Steemian
- Best Post
For the Best Community I will be looking for communities which are actively building their Community Curation Account, moderating and commenting on all posts in their community, and organising activities for their members.
I am also looking for Communities with a clearly stated purpose and vision that adds value to the platform.
Communities that are looking to be self-reliant rather than just relying on steemcurator and booming votes will also be considered more favourably.
For the Best Steemian I will be looking for people who regularly produce well presented, good quality posts that genuinely add some value to the platform.
I am also looking for people that show creativity and originality through activities and events they organise.
A clear and obvious long term commitment through a heathily growing amount of Steem Power will also be an important factor in my selection, as will regular engagement with other members of the community through meaningful commenting.
For the Best Post I am looking for an interesting and informative post that I can learn from or be entertained.
The post should be well presented with good layout, good grammar and no spelling mistakes.
Most importantly the post should add some value to the Steem platform.
The posts can be in any language, in or out of a community, and should be posted in October 2022.
Selection of Monthly Winners
Throughout the month I will be continually looking out for potential winners.
I cannot though reach all the far corners of Steem so I am keen for suggestions from the wider community.
To this end I am happy for people to post their suggestions for all or any of the three categories in the comments below.
For greater visibility you can also make posts with your suggestions and reasons for your choice.
You are welcome to nominate yourself or others.
Nomination posts can be in any language, and should carry the tag #pennsifs-picks.

The Prizes
The monthly prizes will be...
- Best Community - 5000 SP delegation for a month
- Best Steemian - 2500 SP delegation for a month plus 250 TRX
- Best Post - 2500 SP delegation for a month plus 250 TRX
If the contest goes well and good winners are found and I continue to progress in the witness rankings, then the prizes will be increased in subsequent months.

While it will not be obligatory for people and communities to be voting for my witness to be considered for the monthly awards, I will be giving my primary attention to those that are.
I will be very grateful if the monthly winners are willing to carry a small footer advertising my witness during the month of the delegation.
For communities it would ideal if the Admins and Moderators are voting for my witness.
I have always been keen to improve all elements of the Steem platform.
Now as a Community Witness this is even more important to me.
I hope these monthly awards are well received in the spirit of continual advancement for us all.
I hope also that I continue to climb in the witness rankings so that I can increase the monthly prizes to become ever more incentivizing for everyone to improve their contributions to the Steem platform.

Für dein Witnessing ist der Contest natürlich eine prima Vermarktungsschiene. Das sage ich ohne Aburteilung; ich begrüße deinen Vorstoß. Aber ich hoffe, du findest für die folgenden Monate ein besseres Motto, eine bessere Challenge.
While I really appreciate what you are suggesting here, I do chafe at this "best of" idea. Frankly, I find it not only nebulous (the best in terms of what?), but also misleading, insofar as it serves the idea of competition and not participation.
Your criteria show that you yourself value togetherness, but a competition to see who can create the best togetherness is in my view a contradiction in terms and does not promote this togetherness.
Of course, the contest is a great marketing tool for your witnessing. I say that without condemnation; I welcome your initiative. But I hope you will find a better motto, a better challenge for the following months.
