He took a bite out of the sugar cane and stared at his friends as they layed on the ground.
He'd fought bravely for it and he stood above them victorious.
Chike had earned the right to call himself the gang leader. All the others had tried but he had bested them with little effort.
In this world it's survival of the fittest and he was the fittest.
His foes all layed on the ground, still feeling the pain from his blows.
Chike stared them down, as he took that first bite, the taste of victory never tasted better.

Wow this is a nice story, good choice of words and a different concept from what I've been reading you didn't end it with the image instead you started. What i dont understand is why your story hasn't been upvoted so much, I think you need to fill your friends in on it.
Well goodluck.

Amos! Amos ooo!!! Veronica called out.
Yes aunty see me here, amos answered,as he snuk into the compound.
Where were you for the last 30 minutes? Veronica asked accompanying the question with a hard slap, which landed amos on the ground breaking his ankle, it was painful but he didn't cry,he was used to it, looking at her walk away feeling contented with the pain she had inflicted on him,he bit the container he had been hiding all this while, and thought to himself,"i will do you something",he smiled at the container and its poisonous content...he was going to be finally free!

Beautiful write up

fantastic write up and efficient transfer of information.

This is my entry

After the fire that decimated our tattered house almost a week ago my family was placed in ruin. My father who was the bread winner of the family didn't see any bread to win for us. We were always hungry, my stomach, forever sounding like a distuned French horn. Then things grew worse when I got separated from my pack, my kinsmen my family. I don't know how I wandered into a stingy neighborhood like this one, where every kiosk owner owns a big knife and eyes at the back of their head. I haven't eaten anything since then and I know I would have broken the Guinness world record of most days scaled through without eating. Then I saw a piece of bread with a weakling boy such as my self. "This is my chance" I said. After some minutes of tug of war the piece of bread was finally mine.

Goodluck... I hope u win

My goodness this is creativity @ehisoria. Wish you success in this.

Nice write up here 👍👍👍

That's me up there, holding firm to the little piece of meal, taking my time to eat through it. Who knows, it might be my last.

My clothes begging to be washed.
We were not rich, but at least, we could of a balanced diet. I was going very well till it happened at that ungodly hour. That night, i saw my mom and dad shot on the spot by infidels. I don't know why, but i was spared and kicked into a van like a criminal. I sat in the middle of two heafty men with my face down, drawning my sorrows.
I was sold into salvary and warned not to disobey my master nor his household. Was this really my portion? I pondered.

I had no issue obeying my master because i was well trained my parent. But you can't push someone to the wall and still expect him to be quiet.
For three days, i was giving no food, neither water. My eyes became weary and the worms in my stomach where already protesting. I could take it no more. I tiptoed down to the kitchen but unfortunately, i saw my masters son right there in the kitchen, eating. He caught sight of me and yelled at me to go back to my cave. Covering his nose. With the hunger in me, i ran towards him and gave him a slap that made him fall to the ground. I took the last piece of bread remaining and started eating it with my eyes wild opened, starring at him. Never tempt a wounded lion i told him.

@delaw

FOCUS
No matter what I do, I maintain my focus. Even though I have no one to call my own, I maintain my focus. Even though I have no helper but God, I maintain my focus. My watchword always is "progress with joy".

I grew up on the streets after my mum died without disclosing the identity of my father. I live with a couple of other homeless kids. We hustle together, united by the common bond of homelessness. We wash cars, sell scrap iron and hawk items to make a living. The only supplements we get apart from this our "jobs" come from one old man down the street who donates food to us on a regular basis.

Given all these challenges, I have a focus. I intend one day to rise to a position of power so I can help the helpless. Having gone through a lot of suffering, I daresay I know how it feels to suffer.
This is my goal in life.
This is my focus.
I am Jonah Jay

This is a very detailed and nice story...
And it could have been approved in no time.
But the story should be about the last picture attached the post. That of the little boy.
Thanks... I await your new entry 💝💝💝

It is about the last picture of the boy. I guess I should remove the picture I put then

Goodluck dr

Thank you

A black boys childhood

Screaming in pain as weeps lashed my head.
Mum please I won't do it again.
As though she didn't hear me, she flogged me continuously.
I won't beg again I said repeatedly

Did I bring you up to beg?
Don't I feed you properly?

I'm sorry Mummy.. Please forgive me.
She kept flogging till she was satisfied
Then she said

If I ever see you beg, I will flog hell out of you.
Get away from my front.

I left her front sobbing. Since our house is face me I face you, I didn't want my friends to see me as a weakling so I immediately cleaned the tears off my eyes.
Almost immediately my neighbors kids came out of their rooms with plenty kuli kuli and I couldn't resist the temptation... I just had to beg again..
Please give me I begged
As I stretched my hand to collect
I heard my mum call my name

Johnny you are begging again

I froze in shock.. 'Cos I knew immediately that I'm dead.

HERE IS MY ENTRY :

I remember growing up in the remote area of Far East Ebonyi state. Growing up was no fun at all. Going to school without shoes on especially empty stomach was no child's play at all. The thought of giving up was interesting but what would become my fate after having givien up was the real problem.
In all my growing up years, an important lesson I got from my grandmother kept me going. My grandma before she passed out, gave me a piece of rock and like the young man up there, she said bite life really hard if you must ever make a difference in your generation .No matter how many times it hurts your teeth, bite it hard until you cut through, she said.

Life is not a bed of roses so you take every chance you get. Man has to work his way from place to place because life is a game of luck, but a real man makes his own luck. but on a second thought, not all men can be born with a silver spoon, then i thought to myself i have air in my lungs so as every other human, i also wake up every morning like other humans not knowing what the day will bring, who am going to meet. though, i don't sleep under a bridge, and so i think life is a gift and i don't intend on wasting it so as to make each day count, this thought keeps coming back to my memory at every moment when i see the boy with a piece of bread in is mouth looking up to me, it always makes me feel like we had an unfinished discussion, then i thought again, why don't i make a change so i walked up to him with a smile and said "never give up boy" then i reached out for my wallet and gave him a thousand dollar, he drop the bread and walked away with a big smile. with joy in my heart i was so glad i had made a new count and also save a generation.

Good morning!

Many people passed as the time passed by but nobody cared to look at the small black bundle which cuddled against a ragged cloth. Only parts that visible on that bundle was small baby teeth and a pair of eyes.He sighed as his stomach rumbled. He shivered as the cold wind ruffled his cloth and touched his skin. A car has passed and something soft bumped on his head.He bent over and picked the parcel. It was a half-eaten sandwich. His mouth drooled on the sight and he stuffed it into his mouth and thought"I'll live to fight another day".

Waooooooo... This had my heart....

Here's my entry:

Caleb is a twelve years old boy who lives with his parents in a town you can barely accustom with civilization.
Caleb, though had access to education you can refer to as fair, has his mind way beyond the system. You can call him gifted.
Many were his vices as he was constantly castigated for every intuitive decision he made.
But it all changed one afternoon at a youth empowerment programme held in one of the public schools downtown. Caleb found himself and amidst all odds, he made a renewing decision.
Caleb broke away from all vices.
