DocumentZ - Season 1 Episode 2 Prompt
DocumentZ - Season 1 Episode 2 Prompt
Season 1, the story so far:
Episode 1 Entry
Tim has survived his first brush with Zombie death and has sensibly stocked up on some supplies. Let’s see how he can get from where he is to Jacob and Alison…
13 June 2019, Denver, 14h13
Tim could hear the engine of the Honda motorcycle busy cooling down. It was old but in good repair. More importantly the key was still on the ignition.
Tim slung his rucksack on to his shoulder and looked around for the owner. At the gas pumps there stood a man in a black uniform. The silver-white star on the man’s shoulder marked him as Denver police of some kind.
“I just called the Warden. He’s sending up half the men from jail.” The police was speaking to one of the attendants.
The petrol attendant was scratching his neck. “You think we should go get ma Rory?”
The police office shrugged. “Nah Clive. It just sounds like rioting or something. I am not sure. Nothing it going on down in Utah Park.”
“Riots? But there’s smoke and fire out there Rory!” The attended pointed towards the highway. “What the hell is that?”
Beyond the two men there was a stand of trees that partially blocked the view to the highway. A group of four people were stumbling, down the road, bloodied and injured. Even at this distance Tim could see their skin was too grayish and the blood was on their faces and hands.
They are coming.
“County Jail, this is Officer Rory.” The man spoke with his head cocked to the side, possibly clutching his radio.
“Go over Rory.” The casual reply came.
“We got injured civilians coming down Havana. The Waren is sending some men up, could you get a medic out here as well?”
“Right away! I will pass it on.” The officer on the other end of the radio responded to the news quickly… but this was all the wrong response Tim knew.
A car came screeching down the road, not swerving nearly enough the sedan’s bonnet connected with one of the shambling zombies.
“Holy shit!”
The hit and run sedan raced on southward while the policeman radioed again. There were sirens and screams and through it all Tim could see Clive, the gas attendant running across the open space to help the person he had seen go down.
How will the story continue?
Will Tim take advantage of the chaos and escape? Will he warn the others of zombies? Or will he do something else entirely?
YOU the writers will decide!
Objectives:
- Tim must survive!
- Show a choice between acting for himself or others. (If he acts to save others now, will that effect saving his family?)
- Gain a better weapon. (How and what is up to you.)
- Gain either a friend or an enemy that must survive!
Conditional Objectives:
If you travel directly South away from the Highway you will go over a railroad and beyond that is Denver County Jail. If you go this way you need to mention either the Train or the Jail. Both will not give you extra points but you are welcome to use both!
If you travel directly West there will be a Truck Rental and an open lot that joins the Highway. If you go this way you need to include a mob of zombies travelling out over the empty lot. What you do with them or how they affect the story is up to you!
If you travel directly East you will be travelling away from the main incursion of zombies. If you go this way then you will meet a convoy of US Military on their way towards the Zombie threat. Who they are, how many there are and how they might interact with Tim is up to you!
If you travel directly North then you are stark raving mad! There will be explosions and people screaming and packs of Zombies tearing into the people. If you do this way… you will need to write a very good excuse! If there is any hope for you it had better become plain by the end of the episode.
Inventory reminder
Tim has on him:
- A backpack, contents unknown. (No weapons though, but does include below).
- A tire iron, used already to dispatch a Zombie.
- Some packaged food.
- Some bottles of water.
Summary
There you have it! 4 Primary Objectives and a choice of 4 different Conditional Objectives based on the direction you travel. Luckily for us, this part of the story is set in an American City that have plenty of roads that are straight up north/south and east/west.

We would like to thank @gprince for a donation of 1SBD for the prize pool of season 2
I am excited to see what will happen next!
There are so many possibilities from where the story starts this time!
I don't know if it was intentional or not from @jmcrouse, but it really is a good spot to work from!
Well, I was trying leave it off in a way that left a lot open for the next episode, depending on how the writers want to take Tim. Episode 2 is going to be a blast, imo :D gotta get working! Thanks for all the work behind document Z!
Thanks Boss... Your work on Steemit platform is highly unspeakable sir,.. I love it ☺
Thank you for your donation!
Hahaha.. No sir, it too small.. @lucy-and-dan is my Boss.. And I like him ☺
@moneyinfant has added your contest to the list Steemit Writing Contests: Issue #23. The list is updated on a daily basis and your contest will remain on the list until its expiration - there's nothing you need to do.
The list was created to save writers the excessive amount of time spent searching through the #contest tag for writing contests. Now they can just come to the list each day, see new contests and use their time doing what they love - writing.
If you'd like to help spread the word about the Steemit Writing Contest List I'd really appreciate a resteem, but it certainly isn't necessary. The project is simply meant to help writers save time and contest creators attract more contestants.
P.S. If you know of any contests I've missed I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!
Thank you very much!
I have upvoted and resteemed your post. I have also started following you to see more of your work!
I loved reading this feel good post, you have a strong voice, and do well in encouraging motivation. This is definitely inspiring, especially for people, like myself, that have a disability, and get regularly discouraged. And treated differently. I cant wait to read more!
i follow and upvote to your post ,, so kindly follow me back and upvote at given link ,, then i will upvote to your thanks.
What the everloving hell? You do realise we can see that you didn't upvote this post. So not only are you comment spamming my friend's post with your link and upvote request, you are also lying about the upvote and resteem. Did you even read the post? Can you tell me what it's about?
Comment spam like this is frowned upon by the community and likely to get you flagged. I could maybe assume that you're a new user and don't know better yet. But lying is unethical and can in no way be excused by your being new.
Next time you want to comment, try finding a post you can actually find something intelligent to say about.
Nice job on calling out that guys BULLSHIT. I would like to thank you on behalf of the Steemit community for doing so. I have recently started a #SHARKATTACK movement where I drop the tag and a picture of a shark and message relating to the post. I have started with what seem like gold digging YT schmuks, but think dropping it on dumb or self serving comments should be a part of it. Also here is an invite to the RESPECT DA PEOPLE discord. All about free speech, music and supporting this community. https://discord.gg/nfXuq34 RESPECT
That sounds great. I just scorch them when I see them, myself. ;-)
