I absolutely love steemit. There are things that I would change but I genuinely feel quite positive about being a part of the community. So here are my likes and dislikes:

Likes

1. I love that steemit is a community. Those more experienced members are happy to share hints and tips with the minnows and share their expertise.
2. I love that people are committed to sharing quality content that is original and engaging. I don't have as much time as I would like to read some of the amazing blogs but coild spend a lifetime reading some of the amazing things that people have to share.
3. I love that you can connect with people from all over the world, learning new things about culture, beliefs and different way of life. Social media such as facebook is limited to your circle of friends.... to add a stranger is creepy and weird..... Fellow steemians welcome new follows with open arms and are happy to follow regardless of background..... steemit does to discriminate or label. We are all free to mingle without barriers.
4. I love that i am looking at things that I wouldn't ordinarily be discovering.... new photographers, bands, artists and writers now have a platform to showcase their talent.

Dislikes

1. I don't like the layout of the blog feed. I aren't very technically minded so don't know how it can be improved..... I just know that I don't like it.
2. It's very hard to get noticed on the platform as blogs just get lost in a sea of new content.
3. As more and more minnows join the platform, there seems to be a lot more posts containing just a you tube video or google photograph with very little additional content to add value....... if I wanted to watch you tube videos, I woukd go onto you tube. Sure use a video or a google image to add to the content, but I feel that there should be something in place to prevent posts like.... "check out this video to cheer you up today."
4. I don't like the fact that accounts can be killed so easily with a couple of whale down votes. I think this should be moderated to allow the platform to be fair and transparent. Sure whales have earned their power on steemit but sometimes their decisions shouldnt be as final as destroying a really good account because they disagree with a blog.
5. I don't like that I dont have enough power to have the elusive slider!!!!! Im
6. I don't like that I can't retire and live on my steemit income on a tropical island, drinking cocktails and champagne all day......
