How to cook poha (Recipe)
Poha is a favourite dish in my city and indori makes India's best poha. Even it is common breakfast for people of my city.
The relishing flavours, the appealing texture and the amazing aroma of Indori poha recipe is just mouth-watering.
Indori poha can be tried by beginners also because it is easy to cook.
Different people cook pohs differently but today i am gonna show you how to make best indori poha.

Ingredients to make poha-
- 3 cup poha (flattened Rice)
- 2 tsp soyabean Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 & 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- Peanuts (according to you)
- 3-4 green chilies (chopped)
- 1 onion (Chopped)
- 1/2 tsp grated Ginger
- 10-12 Curry Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt (according to taste)
- 1 & 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
Garnishing Ingredients:
- 1/2 Onion, chopped
- Pomegranate seeds
- Loads of Coriander leaves
Now let's start cooking-
- Wash the poha (flattened rice) 3-4 times then drain the water, Now mix salt and sugar to the poha (flattened rice) itself, so the sugar can be mixed with the poha and pur it aside to be used when needed.
- Now Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds and once they start to splutter add peanuts and saute for a minute Then add onions, green chilies and curry leaves. Cook until the onions turns a little brown in colour.
- Next add the grated ginger, red chili powder, fennel seeds, turmeric powder and saute for a few seconds.
- Add the poha (flattened rice) and mix well. Cover and cook on a low heat for 5-7 minutes. Turn off the heat and sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve immediately with a hot cup of coffee or tea in this Sunday morning, garnish it with some chopped onions, pomegranate, coriander leaves. If you have some Ratlami Sev, nothing can beat this wonderful Sunday morning breakfast.
Tip- Adding fennel seeds makes this poha recipe so delicious. If you have jiravan, sprinkle it on top of the poha and enjoy it in your morning breakfast .
