Air conditioning The cool And EZ way

Imagine, with the summer temps and humidity how difficult a simple task, such as writing a blog would be if you were sweating all over your keyboard or tablet. As a state certified air conditioning contractor in the state of Florida, I can attest to the difficulty of working in 100 degree plus attics. My main reason for writing about this is simply to advise you all on simple task that you can do to keep cool and small items you can do to keep your ac system running smoothly this summer. Yes, I wrote a book named, Air conditioning The cool And EZ way. This was done as a way of informing home owners about things they could do to keep their home comfort systems running efficiently and if it broke down how to find a contractor to fix it and not get ripped.

The Number one Item that you as a homeowner or renter can do to help keep your AC system running smoothly is to keep the air filter clean. I know sounds simple but, that is the number one reason why systems fail, run inefficiently or just do not cool up to par.

Well, as you can see it is pretty simple to visually check you r air filter for dirt. Obviously, there should be very little dirt covering the filter, a thin coat of dust is fine But I have seen far to often a filter that looks like a piece of carpet. This heavily soil filter will restrict air flow, causing reduced cooling capacity, condensate drains to clog as well as the system to work harder and higher electricity bills and ultimately system failure. AC filters should be changed every 30 days on average but, ultimately you should monitor your air filters to get a better idea of when your system filter need changing. by checking your filters on a regular basis, you can determine how often they need changing. I will go into much more detail in another post referencing more about the types of filters and where to buy etc.
