Resources for understanding the coronavirus

In our fast moving data driven world knowledge is power.

As the coronavirus pandemic sweeps around the world the best thing ordinary citizens can do is to keep themselves educated about what is going on. Then they can make informed decisions about how best to protect themselves and their families.

You could rely on the MSM for your information. However, the more discerning person may want to go below the surface and develop a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of this global health crisis.

Here are some of my recommended sources of information:

John Hopkins University have developed a real time app for computers and mobile phones for keeping track of the virus as it sweeps around the world. It provides numbers for those infected, recovered, countries affected and numbers of deaths.

The Peak Prosperity website provides detailed coverage of the pandemic. It includes a daily podcast by Dr. Chris Martenson, whose PhD is in toxicology. He looks at the lastest health developments and new scientific research. Besides this, Martenson examines the economic shock waves caused by the virus. Most important of all his approach is all about empowering the citizen so that they can take measures to protect themselves and their families.

The Epoch Times is an online news site whose investigative journalists are providing great coverage of the pandemic. They have managed to expose various cover ups by the Chinese government. Take today where it has an article which notes how The Epoch Times has obtained a series of internal government documents which reveal that officials in Shandong province have been under reporting the number of new cases each day.
