PaulsRobot main options

in #counseling6 years ago (edited)

You will see this options screen in session at PaulsRobot.com after deciding on a hot topic to discharge. It is often best to start addressing your topic with Reach & Withdraw.

What happens then?

As detailed in this post section The New Client at this point one of three main things will happen:

  1. Nothing
  2. You'll start to fall asleep
  3. You'll start to yawn, sigh etc (showing the topic is discharging)

We'll look at these in reverse order:

  3. It's working. Woohoo!

You want this, of course, as the whole point of the session is to discharge a hot topic. So all's going well, just carry on. Switch among the top three options (Reach &Withdraw, 6-Direction, Rogerian) as described in earlier posts.

  2. This requires urgent attention

It is detailed fully in Rub & Yawn Tip #6. Using the remedy given there results in #3, and the topic should discharge well from that point. Although it is likely to be intense as this particular topic has the already-demonstrated power to knock you unconscious.

The exact mechanism of what causes SHUTTING DOWN, this sudden transformation from bright awareness to mental grogginess or even sleep is not known, although we can give it the label of “harmful energy” [sounds better than “bad vibes”]. But note that the Rub & Yawn remedy addresses both the symptoms and the cause.

  1. Nothing

This can be exasperating if you genuinely want to have a good session. Possible causes:

You are new to Rub & Yawn and have never done it successfully

Make sure you are following the instructions, of course. Also try reading the articles from others on Letting Go of Stress, linked in my earlier post. Remember that Rub & Yawn has a "Rub" part, and you might need to give it a really thorough go in order to "prime the pump", so to speak.

     There is no charge...

... associated with this topic, or else the charge is buried too deeply to access right now. If it seems like the topic should discharge, and you have shown in real life that Rub & Yawn works for you, do a bunch more vigorous Rubbing non-stop for at least a minute. If no go, then try another should-be-hot topic. If still no discharge, maybe...

     You're unsessionable

You need to be in a certain physical state (well-rested, well-fed etc) as described in my Sessionability post to be able to have a good session. As an obvious example, if your dog is nipping at your ankles it would be hard not to get distracted.

This topic is flat now

This is different to an uncharged topic. It means the topic was hot, and you have been discharging it with regular Rub & Yawn techniques (6-Direction etc), and the discharges (yawns, sighs etc) have been getting less and less and have finally stopped despite vigorous rubbing. Normally you would also feel exceptionally calm, expansive, "blown out" even, especially after an intense session. This might take 20 minutes, or less, or more. At this point end the session!

If you try and try and take up another topic while in a high SUSHI state, it won't work. Even if you carefully arranged your life to set aside a whole hour for this session, paying a dog-walker and babysitter, driving for an hour to a relative's quiet room away from the kids, and then you blow out on a hot topic after 5 minutes, end the session.

On the other hand, if you just flattened off a slightly-charged topic and feel OK but meh, you should certainly have a go at another one, preferably a heavier one.

Then there's the mid-SUSHI state, where you've flattened off a fairly good topic, have plenty of session time still available, and feel good but not WOWZA! Will it work to take up another topic? Well, maybe it will and maybe it won't. Try it and see. But if the session seems to go downhill from there, recognise that you should probably have ended off at that good point earlier.

Don't want to continue

Don't just give up and abandon the session! There could be many reasons. These include:

  • Tired or hungry? (4 possible reasons, only one of which is genuinely short of sleep or food)
  • Run out of session time? (2 possible reasons, one of which is you really have run out of time)
  • Urgent real-life problem, toilet, fire etc (we're not going to question a fire)
  • "Think I've got as much as I can out of this, and feel good" (end the session properly)
  • "Think I've got as much as I can out of this, and feel bad" (end the session properly; then there are extensive troubleshooting instructions, which will be discussed in a future post)

Realization

This is a sudden new realization that has just been uncovered by the session action. For example, "Oh! So that's why she looked at me like that," or "Ah, so that's why I always ...." There are really two types:

  • A mild realization. That's nice, thank you. Now, what were we doing? (Note you realized something, briefly write it down if you want to, then continue with the session action you were doing.)
  • A mind-blowing realization. After one of these you won't be able to continue with the session even if you try. This is a high, high SUSHI state. (Just end the session and enjoy the win. Have another session when you feel like one in an hour or a week or whatever. Maybe there will be more to address on that topic next session, or maybe not, but no way will you be able to find out right now.)

Ownership

Sometimes handling some specific charge works better when the person concentrates their attention into a particular area of the body or space around them. Do it in this way if it seems like the right thing to do, otherwise just do it generally without narrowing attention into a specific location.

You can access this option at any time while running a PaulsRobot session. You would usually narrow your attention into an area in or close around the body. The charge might be concentrated into a very small area, or spread out over a large part of the body and a few feet (a meter) from it. Or anywhere in between. It can also happen that one is picking up charge from a remote connection. The mechanics of this are not clear, but it is rarely necessary to identify the source of the charge any more specifically than recognizing that it is not within one's immediate energy field, while narrowing one's attention onto it.

PaulsRobot will run the session for you

You won't need to remember all this. It works best if you allow PaulsRobot to act as the practitioner throughout. All you have to do is press the appropriate response button based on what is happening with you in the session at that exact time, and the correct next action for you -- with detailed instructions if needed -- will appear. Like magic.
