Coronavirus pandemic has impacted everyone around the globe. While the virus doesn't differentiate between class, gender or race, the coping with the virus has definitely been more difficult for those who are economically backward.

I must admit that in India, both the government and private organisations, NGOs, individuals have really raised to the occasion and have contributed in terms of money, service, time and effort to make it easier for everyone to face and fight his pandemic.

Since there was a 21-day long lockdown imposed across all of India, most of the travelling had completely been restricted. While essential services like groceries, medicines etc were still accessible, it also meant offices and a lot of other establishments having to close the shops.

This impacted the largest workforce in India, the daily wage workers. This section of workers is dependent on their daily earnings to lead their life. Much of the aid and relief work was aimed at reaching out to them. I volunteered at a local NGO where I am helping distribute rations across such earmarked areas.

Each bag of ration has raw enough food material for a family of four, for a week. Through my experience, I witnessed first hand, how many came forward selflessly to serve. I also witnessed the helplessness and desperation in people and the indifference of many of the privileged.

I am sharing with you all Steemians, some of the pictures too from this relief work.
